Band: Uproar
Address: http://www.mp3.com/uproar
Quality: a little muddy, we're poor :D

We've been together for about two years and we're just looking for some outside opinions of our music. Thanks all.

Sorry about voting for "go back to the garage" to be honest. I didn't even listen to it. And now I know I'm the only person that voted for it, I feel guilty for making it a 100% demorilising vote. Ahhhh.... shit. I was just voting for the hell of it. I like voting. Recently I moved to France just to vote in the French presidential elections. Just so I could put "Le Pen to paper". Ah.... that pun made it even worse. I'm just digging my own hole. I'll stop now.

I was thinking about posting a link to our songs on mPulse.com instead, but I just noticed that mPulse has a pretty small user base still. Every time I check on our songs' rankings, that one hit is enough to bump us into the top 10, hehe.

Well it's been kinda part-time since we're most all still in school. Our drummer is even still in high school. It will be awesome once summer kicks into full swing cause we're gonna be playing as many places as we can here in the midwest. Having your stuff online helps a lot. We can refer people to the website if we're ever caught without a demo cd handy. I was gonna send dogbomb a cd to review once upon a time, but I keep forgetting. Maybe he'll listen to the mp3s and review it anyway :)

Not my thing

Travis is a UK pop star under the Rock 'n Roll sort of genre (used in a very loose term before someone pounces on me).

Good gravy, I had completely forgotten about this place!

And yeah, mp3.com has been dead for a year at least.

Since you actually went to all the trouble to resurrect a 3 year old thread, here's an updated with link MUCH MUCH better songs:

Vocals are far too loud on that demo. It SOUNDS like a demo if you know what I mean. And i don't like the drum sound at all.

Apart from that, you could do with tightening up a bit, but yeah.. not bad.

Uh, well yeah, it's a demo. ;)

But thanks for the input, I agree about the vocals being too loud. We couldn't convince the singer otherwise though, hehe.

Did you like any of the songs?

Like the song "Slit the wrists" (only song I've had time to listen to :P)the sound is pretty fucking good, if you ask me. The drums sound pretty awesome.

All in all, pretty damn good sounding band....kinda elements of nin, mid-career korn and funeral for a friend.

Which begs the question, why are you with a label called "indie" when you'se are clearly anything but?

Actually, we're about as indie as they come.

We scraped together a few hundred bucks to record those songs at a friend's recording studio. There's a great site called DiskFactory that will print you up some nice looking CDs for cheap so we made up about 100 and sold them at shows around town.

But there's no label or anything behind it, hence the indie.

indie means different things in America and UK... though the UK usage is becoming more common over here (Britspeak...).

the term indie over here (u.k.) is commonly used to refer to wank britpop bands.
although it shouldn't be.

but yeah that does sound pretty (u.s.a. version of) indie
