How come no-one lists the usage of Newsgroups for MP3 downloading?
All the file sharing proggies (Kazza, Morpeus, et al) are in my opinion not worth the effort. You either get dodgy downloading speeds or just plain shite rips. Only benefit to 'em is the newness of files, kinda.
So I gave up on p2p stuff and switched back to good old fashioned newsgroups. (and did you know every Window$ user has a free newsgroup reader in the form of Outlook Express?)
Find the newsgroup logon protocols from your ISP and piff-paff-poof you have access to 30,000+ groups - mostly of good old fashioned pr0n - but several very good mp3 groups.
In OEx, all you do is download the newsgroup listing and search for the alt.binaries.sounds.mp3...... and browse through the current uploads.
My favourites that I check out everyday are: alt.binaries.sounds.mp3.dance a.b.s.m.new-age a.b.s.m.1980s and a few others.
Most of the mp3's are super quality and you tend to get full albums - and best of all, if you ask nicely someone may post your requests.
So dump your lame-ass p2p shite and get down to the good old fashioned newsgroups.
