not meaning to put a damper on things, but since you ask, my brother, David, died this morning at 3:30, CDT, USA. He had brain cancer, caused from Agent Orange. He went peacefully, at 58 years old. May he rest in peace.

It hasn't been a good day. :(

I'm very sorry to hear that SG. I hope you are doing as well as you can (that sounds stupid, but it is part of the trick). Losing a close relative is like losing a part of your body/soul and having been through it I can only tell you that after time the pain eases a bit and you still have the memories of what was good.

They will come back to you at the oddest times and at those times you will smile and sometimes feel a bit melancholy. Eventually the smiles will predominate. (from my lips to... :))

hang in there..

Thank you all so much.

we laid David to rest today, at the new National Cemetary in Dallas, Texas. It is a beautiful place, and he was given full military honors.

yes, Thom, I knew him well, though I was only a baby when he left for Viet Nam. His was a hard life, full of demons, but he has left that all behind now. He, and my other brother, will always live in my heart. :)
