i sympathise with you on that as i get the occasional bout, surely being a nurse and working all hours can not help it either ?

It sure dont. I leave work at ten pm and have to be back in for around six the following morning. seems pointless going to bed so sometimes i stay up all night. look its one in the morning now, no chance of any sleep before my next shift!!

The ungreatful, moribund pensioners arnt worth it!! Still I may come across a rich demented one soon and it will all be over. ( joke )

Perhaps the pensioners are ungrateful because they expected their nurse to be attractive and helpful?

Hello daze. Amazing grace rhymes with that. As a caring nurse, you're probably used to people not valueing you properly. So you're already prepared for the worst. Makes you a lucky person. You've come to the right place. Enjoy the birds.. boards.

Why is it assumed that all nurses are caring? Im certainly not. My reasons for becomming a nurse are not completely altruistic........... Easy access to young DRs, the medicine cupboard, inexpensive car insurance, queue jumping!
But you do have a point. Being threatened with a shard of glass from a broken window does give you a sense of perspective allowing flippant comments to be tossed aside.

Well one would hope that the nurse that takes care of them will end up being a caring one. Just because you may not be caring does not speak for all nurses. I feel I am a very caring nurse. I have had the uncaring take care of me and I became a nurse to make a difference from the uncaring. So if you are not a caring nurse that's of course is your choice, but when people are sick they need someone who will be caring and help them help themselves get better. This is not meant to offend you in any way. I just had to voice my opion on your comment.

No offence taken. Though Id like to point out that not caring about your job and doing it badly or being complacent are two different things. I like to think that my skills and knowledge that I use to give lectures benifit the patients by keeping caring Drs and nurses up to date with current practice.

I dont take a dildo to work. Hip replacements suffice.
