Lovely Don Estelle is dead, he was 70. He had been ill. He played Lofty in the not particularly PC BBC comedy "It aint arf 'ot mum". He was only 4ft 9.

I saw don Estelle about 10 years ago in the Pentagon Shopping Centre, Chatham. He was dressed in his hilarious lofty gear and pith helmet trying to sell his albums to unsuspecting passers by.Now he’s dead, don't tell the trees 'cos the trees don't need to know.
On the albums section of his website the MP3 extracts from his book “SING LOFTY/THOUGHTS OF A GEMINI” …. are a work of literary genius.

That's a shame, I never knew who he was but charismatic people dying is never good news. Well, not in any scenario I can imagine unless you go really, really outlandish.
