Night gone grey

The nights gone grey,
It’s the colour of our times,
And everyone is distant,
We speak in soulless rhymes,

The news feeds us with stories,
Of sorrow and regret,
And a million haunting images,
We wish we could forget,

Fingers hover over buttons,
Set to launch a thousand bombs
And no-one stops to wonder,
If just maybe somehtings wrong,

Missiles fly through the sky,
From the west into the east,
And innocents in warzones,
Cry and pray for peace,

The world gets a little less sane,
With every bomb they drop,
But no-one seems to question,
Will the madness never stop.

I like it... :)

you did the hard stuff like paying attention to rythmn and rhyme and not indulging in any Metallica (I like them) or Slayer (I loathe them) contortion of English sentence structure to get rhymes to work.

And you focused outside yourself which no one seems to try to do anymore...
