A moment
One probe orbits the red planet far out of sight,
A gunshot rings through the New York night,
One new born baby takes his first gasp of air,
A suicide jumper thinks that no-one will care,
On deathrow an innocent longs to be free,
A holed oil tanker leaks its cargo to sea,
On a beach a little girl wishes on stars,
In London, in thousands, they’re drinking in bars,
The flash of the camera captures a bride all in white,
A radar station tracks a missile in flight,
A crowd all in black mourn the death of their friend,
And then just as it starts the moment reaches its end.
