Whats the best game you have ever played on the pc or playstation/game cube/ xbox etc?

Im not really a gamer, i just like visiting messageboards more than playing games but my favourite game ive ever played is Resident Evil. Scares the bejaysus out of me, cant play it alone. Normally play it with my friend, she navigates whilst i do the controls.

only got to play silent hill once as it wasnt my game or my playstation and that was pretty freaky.

has anyone ever thrown up after playing Doom? cant play that now, threw up violently once after playingthat, it made me dizzy.

The finest, most playable, most infuriating, long-lived, psychadelic, barking mad game ever is LLAMATRON on Atari ST, by the genius Jeff Minter.

You can keep your snazzy Playstations, Gamecubes, XBoxs and PC's. Give me that ol' style early 90s stuff. :)

I dunno, Streetfighter 2 Turbo on the SNES was the best console version made (and that includes the most recent ones, EX and Alpha) and I think it's equal with the arcade one.

As for best game I have ever played, it's a draw between Mario Bros. 3 and Mario World. I have bought them both on the GBA, and I'm completely addicted to them both.

I loved Doom, they don't make 'em like they used to. Never made me sick tho...

Got a thingy called Doom95, a front end to play Doom in Win95 I guess. Works with XP too, so with all the Doom WAD files I can play any version on any level.

As we say 'round 'ere "It's rete good..."

Also, Voyager: Elite Force. Its so bloody easy that its just a larf.

OMG yes!!! I'd forgotton about that, classic game. Also on the ST was 'abombinaball', where you had to bounce a ball along dissapearing tiles to diffuse bombs, simple but hugely addictive and the classic, 'rockstar ate my hamster' where you were manager of a rock band, that's my all time fave that one.

sega megadrive - Landstalker, Sonic The Hedgehog

nintendo64 - mario64 (amazing gameplay), mario cart, goldeneye, zelda ocarina of time

dreamcast (my favourite console) - quake 3 arena (played this online pinging 260 to 400ms to US servers from NZ on the stupid PAL 33kb modem. because of it i got totally hooked on quake), soul calibur, jetset radio, shenmue, resident evil code veronica, and grandia 2.

ps2 - Gran Turismo 3, final fantasy X, tekken4, tekken tag tournament, onimusha

gamecube - zelda wind waker

xbox - knights of the old republic (this game is brilliant), and soul calibur

The game I consistently play is Ultra Freeze, which is a mod for Quake 3 Arena on the PC.

Best computer game - probably Deus Ex. I loved the way every hurdle in that game had multiple soulution paths, so for once you got to play through a game exactly how YOU wanted to play. Made the game seem much more in depth, & added greatly to its replay value.

I also have a soft spot for Syphon Filter on the old Playstaion 1. Great game (despite the crappy graphics).

Favorite game of yesteryear : Elite.

Call of Duty (excellent game and it includes Pegasus Bridge and some Brits for once)
Splinter Cell - I just love the ambience and clever use of light also the voice of Michael Ironside the baddie from Total Recall, very cool
NOLF2 I love the 1960's look and the campy spy spoof
In Memoriam - very unusual game which gave me some creepy moments

Final Fantasy VII. Pure genious. You can tell I'm looking forward to Advent Children.

Other games high on the list....
FFX-2 (for pure fun value, once you look past the charlies angels thing)
EverQuest (actually quite boring a lot of the time but incredibly addictive)
Second Life (not really a game though)
Doom
Rez
Chrono Trigger
Most of the other FFs
Tiger Woods
Pokémon

Edit: I just remembered Megarace with Lance Boyle... that was class, I played on it for weeks on end :rolf:

Oh, and Skyroads. One of the first PC games I played (if not *the* first)... played for ages, top notch. Need to find that and put it on dosbox :)

Too right. Best RPG ever IMO. VIII was a bit crap, and whilst IX was better. it was too much of a clone of VII.

I also can't wait for Advent Children.

I don't *own* it, no :)

Well it's not like it's possible to buy it nowadays. I bought all the other FFs since and including 7 for the PS1+2, but if you can't even pay money for the PC version wadda ya do?

It's ok for a few mins, good graphics compared to the PS once it's all patched etc... but it just doesn't "feel" right unless it's on the PS. No idea why.
