We have got one and as far as Hoovers go they are quite groovy.
The clear bit makes me feel sick tho when I see all the filth that comes off the floor.
The hose has came off ours and is held on with the greatest fixer upper thing ever -Gaffa tape.

I agree - they're really good at cleaning - but really flimsy - but it don't really matter as they bring out a new model every six months in time to replace the bust one.

Yeah - they clean good, but are a bit on the flimsy side, but they [dyson support people] were quite good at sending out a repair guy the next day, and sending out spare parts too, if you complain :)

Similar price you can get a Vax. Has a water sucking mode. Looks like a little orange robot. We have one in England and it's good if you flood.

We've already got a vax, It's handy for getting puppy piss from the carpets.

I've had an dyson (ANIMAL model) for about a month, and it sucks, literally :)

I can see how parts of it could be flimsy, but you get a 3 year warranty with it, so who cares?

I saved about £60 by buying online.

WE recently had a Dyson, we had a DC03, and it cleans like nothing else. I dont think we will ever change.

Friends had a Dyson, it caught fire for no reason, melted all the handle

I think the Dysons are very badly designed in some respects, but good in others.

They are good at sucking up the dirt, and easy to empty.

But they are really heavy, and the carry handle is badly positioned for carrying up or down stairs and you have to hold it really high to avoid catching it on the steps. Vacuuming the stairs is also difficult, due to the weight, and the fact that it's very difficult to pull out the hose bit. They also fill up extremely quickly. I'd rather spend a bit longer changing a bag than have to empty it every time I use it. They are also ridiculously expensive, and the colours are hideous.
