Just how much diference is there between a 100 quid webcam and a 30-40 quid one?

60 or 70 quid.

Had to be done....

Usually it's the CCD quality and the "bundled" software - most of which can be crap, system hogging, spyware infested stuff designed for no-brain cunts. Or Joe public as I like to call my clients to their faces.

Half the time you get better resolution from a more expensive camera - and a better looing pic.

also the connection you use is a big factor, ive only ever used a logitect camera, but the more clarity you want in your picture the more bandwidth it uses, so if you want a perfect picture and no stuttering then get a cheap logitect camera (I have Logitech webcam pro) which also has a built in mic and just crank up the quality of the pic if you have broadband :)

I'm with Goatrider. I'm using a bad logitech and it's working wonders.
