Over the weekend, I made the mistake of downloading the full patch for Half-Life (version 1.1.1.0) as I didn't want to go through the hassle of having to find them all over again should anything happen to my PC several months down the line.

First off, I managed to download a 72 MB GERMAN version!!!! So I wasn't best impressed at having to find the english version which totalled 84 MB. My poor modem didn't know what hit it.

Still, I am pleasantly surprised, because v1.1.1.0 has a new mod within it. Ricochet. Has anyone else played it, and what did they think? I find it quite addictive!!! Just a pity there aren't more maps released.

The new richochet mod is included in counterstrike 1.5 apparently.

Whats it about?

Basicly it's a mod for Tron-freaks like me :) You jump around a lot and have three discs that can 'Ricochet' off certain walls. Just be careful whilst you jump, or you'll be off in limbo.

Lucky, falling into limbo doens't take anything from your score, but the more ricochet's that occur before you hit someone, the higher the points you get for it. You also have a choice of firing three seperate 'discs' or one extra hard one made up of those three discs.

Try playing the multi-player first... if you want to, we could set up a game sometime... if we could find enough people on the board willing to join in, and someone with a DSL connection ;-)

SOd that all you need is a Little Bit of Day of Defeat, I personally reckon it is more fun to play than CounterStrike but then again I haven't played CS in ages... becuase I have been playing DOD

Never played Day of Defeat so I wouldn't be able to comment on that... ok, I would, but I might not be quite as inaccurate as I would otherwise be.
