I agree, if she was actually cutting something (eg a price label) it might not seem so bloody stupid.

Yes but do't forget, you can only get a member of this great new design range until Sunday... then Monday, then Friday, Sunday, Monday....

Do these ads actually work? Or do this company just get ripped off by people who take the 6 month's interest-free credit, then take it back and get another one :)

I don't think the ads work at all. To be honest with you I couldn't even remember what company it was ment to be till I read it here. Probably cause I normaly switch the TV of if I see them.

What really annoys me about adverts is the ones which have music and no noise whatsoever over the top of it. I'm always paranoid that someone will hear the music and think I'm listening to it (like when that Land of Hope & Glory one).

I'm currently hating on adverts involving idiots and their money problems:

1337 5pam00r!

In all seriousness, they're utterly shite and utterly boring. I'd rather do a shite in reverse.

the woman is a fucking moron. To see her sofa range *which looks shit anyway and must be- she was on changing rooms dont forget!* she could have chosen a better slogan *ahem* "I like them..I think you will too.."- ooh! a lot of thought put into that linda! please..and as for curries..out of everyboyd they could pick- out of all the actually beuatifuk people they could pick they decided to pick her?! It doesnt do anything for their fucking mass producing company..dear lord.

The only thing she should be doing on a sofa with her hands is a two finger spread whilst the other bird from the Currys advert licks her out.

Don't worry, her career will be totally fucked in a few weeks, never to be heard of again except when opening the occasional local Lidl, Poundstretcher, DFS (insert your own shite happyshopper store). Shite third rate celeb status. Look a Jeremy Fuckface Spake. Now he only appears on C5, and anyone watching that jizzmop of a station deserves what they get.

Right guys, this'll do me for a starter tonight. She's obviously been taking some advice from her mate Carol Vorderman (mmm Carol, I know that might cost me some serious cred but I cannae help it, she gees me the horn!) who when she got a profile decided to cash in for a couple of years and made an effing fortune!!

A more annoying voice doesnae exist on the telly. The only other person who can talk through her cheesy grin in such an annoying way is Carol Smiley (mmm Carol... oh no, here we fucking go again.)

Talking of those bloody DFS adverts (which are nearly as bad as the "Follow the leader, leader, leader, follow the leader" ones)- do these stores ever NOT have a sale on? I mean how pissed off would you be if you actually had to pay full price for a sofa and not get 'double the discount' or whatever.

Don't forget 3 year's interest free credit! And be quick about it, because it ends on Sunday!

TeeHee me likey.

I actually worked for a DFS store as a document filler during one summer (student job) and a more disreputable bunch you will never find.

Salesman are a born breed and if we can find some way identify them from their DNA at birth then we can put the fuckers down before they cause us any unnecessary angst or cost us any unnecessary dosh (all of my dosh is necessary!) and the world will be a much brighter place to wake up to!!

another thing- i noticed on all the furniture adverts back in November that they made a big deal of 'order now and we guarentee delivery before christmas.' I expect I'm being ignorant here (and I'm sure you'll all gladly point it out if I am)- but exactly how difficult is it to deliver a sofa? I mean does it really take a month? Surely you could turn up in a ford transit with a mate and take it away yourself? and how many people buy sofas especially for christmas anyway? is there a christmas sofa rush? surely there's more important things to buy at that time of year- and you should know that it's gonna be half price or 'double the discount' on boxing day anyway.
hmmm- totally off topic.
......Linda Barker sucks.

Linda Barker just wont die, shes like a friggin' zombie, they proved that they couldnt kill her when they threw her off that hammock over christmas (curry's ad) but she still got straight up and grinned, ugh! next time gadget.

Final Note: Linda Barker gets everywhere a fart couldnt.

She frightens me in that ad . Have never seen anyone lookin so manic wielding a pair of scissors. I know she is responsible for some of my mates kids having nightmares and they make my mate turn over when "the scary scissor lady " comes on.

I'm reliably informed by my brother who's worked at Dixons for about 15 years that they DO permanantly have a sale on, it makes people think they're getting something for nothing. They charge higher prices in little stores and make a loss so they can claim discounts in the major stores without contraveining the trade descriptions act.

Yup!. Classic con job, Curry's were featured on Watchdog years ago for pulling this stunt.
