What a depressing peice of crap to have for xmas no.1, and a cover version too which just about sums up the state of the charts. At least the Darkness song was christmas related.

I agree however it could have been worse, the pop idol dross could be no.1 instead.

Bloody Fantastic. Ive Loved This Song Ever Since I Saw Donnie Darko Last Year. How Ace Is This? Been Ages Since Weve Had A Good Number 1, Let Alone A Christmas One.

I Am A Huge Darkness Fan, But In All Fairness, Dont Let The Bells End Is Probably The Worst Song Theyve Done, But Well Done For The Christmas Song, A Worthy Close Runner Up

Define " pop music " if you dislike it so much.

And what else is out there that does not come under the same header?

I like Mad World. But christmas number 1!!!! Not christmassy at all. Should have been the mighty Darkness.

That may be true, but it would have been nice to have a xmassy number 1 for a change.

Mad World is a decent song, but it's already going the "Everybody Hurts" way, very soon it will be synonimous with depressing Kareoke attempts.

I would imagine that the guy that does the tears for fears cover 'mad world' will never be seen again after boxing day.

Sounds like he was in the right place at the right time and was never intended to be a pop star.

Which reminds me, he resembles that Angry Anderson character. Both in looks and situation.

....Incase you don't know Angry Anderson was that ugly aussie twat who sang that 'Suddenly' song from scott and charlenes wedding in Neighbours.

That was at number one for weeks and the poor ugly bugger had to appear on TOTP every week.
