View Full Version : Benetton paint
I bought a tub of Benetton paint to do out my son's bedroom in the new house we are moving into, it cost £15 and it said on the tub you can apply another coat after 1 hour.
Well you can't it has been on for six hours and it is still wet to touch and it went on terrible, looked like it had been put on with a stick and no I didn't use a stick.
Has anyone else had trouble with Benetton paint.
United Colours of Benetton - that won't dry
justbecause Dec 29, 2003, 21:53 Didn't even know they did paint! Was it a special colour?
No, just a normal tub bought at B&Q
DoodleBug Dec 30, 2003, 02:18 Oh. Did you follow the manufacturers instructions for use?
Take it back and complain.
Yep, followed all the instructions correctly, a bit hard to take it back it was all used, but it has now dried 18 hours later, and is like a big blochy thing.
Went to B&Q today and the girls on the paint desk said they didn't like it, "it was shite" was their answer.
GrumpyBoy Dec 31, 2003, 00:57 Desginer paint sorry buts thats just throwing money away.
I mean I don't see how a firm who makes over priced garments and horrible adverts that show Aids victims dying about can know fuck all about paint.
Shit these firms will try any shit to make money.
Yeah designer paints are a load of arse.
And I'm sure B&Q has it's own cheaper range of poncey paints. Or Homebase or one of those places, i dunno.

Have you tried turning the heating up, Paint dries quicker in a warmer enviroment.
Is it an oil based paint ............. they always take longer.

Correct, did that before I started so it would dry quicker, which it didn't

Ending up buying Dulux, which was more money but it was worth the money, it covered in one coat and is a nice finish.
GrumpyBoy Jan 6, 2004, 23:20 Did you try turning a hairdryer up to full setting waving it over the paint for 5 hours ?
