Could some one tell me what is the point in "list view" when using windows its crap as far as I can see, I only ever use detail view) also icon view is crap as since windows icons capapility is useless (all file type have to have the same icon)

more on screen at a time with list view

as Jedichef says - more on the screen at once, as it gives you more columns horizontally

though personally i just use detailed view all the time too - it gives you more info. and it is esier to scroll down than it is to scroll across

Good point, but personaly I find the scrolling across thing confusing.

List is shit. Drives me mad as well.
