then this came back:

Dear Ms *****

Thank you for your recent email.

After throughly investigating this matter, I can confirm that the store have
followed the correct procedure.

I have been informed by the store Manager that the Adi Tuscany which was
incorrectly priced was removed from the shop floor for 24 hours. The Manager
was within her rights to do this. We are informed by Trading Standards that
the final decision lies with the store Manager, who can use his/her
discretion.

Based on this, I can confirm that we have complied with procedures set by
Trading Standards.

I trust this clarifies your query.

then the reply..

24 hours...i understand what the manager(ess) was complying with,but like i
said,i entered the shop twice before the 24 hour deadline, and found them to
be back at your retail selling price.

standards or ,say, the BBC WATCHDOG programme?

Email her back and ask for the details of her manager.

Advise them that you are not happy with her conduct, and see how that gets them.

If she refuses to tell you, just go straight to the MD.

I had a similar thing at Marks and Spencer at Christmas, and they gave me the goods for the price shown.

erm forgive me for being daft, they put them back on sale at 50 quid, why not just buy em then?

salsa

Nah, they put them back on at 70.

Allsports are also terrible for trying to get you to make more purchases when you are paying for the good you have choosen.

Isn't Allsports a shop for pikey's?

My mate had an incident with improperly priced footwear. She was in Shelley's and a pair of NuRock boots were priced at a tenner. She questioned the staff who said it was a mistake, they were actually 100 quid. Manager was called and my mate stuck to her guns, trading standards, blah blah, price on the tag stands, blah blah.

And they folded. She bought them for a tenner and gave them to me.

Moral: Shop at Shelley's not Allsports.

by trading standards law...the manageress was right to withdraw them from sale for 24 hours...

however....

like i said,i entered said premises twice before the 24 hour deadline and were still on sale for £70.

but in the second email......the customer services woman said that they had been removed for 36 hours!!!!!

go figure that one out!

Hmm... but if something was marked at £70 and you went to the desk and it came up on the till at £50, you wouldn't complain...

I have been honest in the past about these things, its only fair.

if something is advertised at a price which is wrong then the store have an obligation to sell it to you at the price advertised.

my sister had a stinking argument with a manager of a store -forget which one- just before crimbo because they had their prices wrong. she won. you have to point out, even though they may be in the right, try your luck and point out it is an advertised price, therefore you get it for the price you were willing to pay.

I've had this a few times at work, the shop isn't obligated to sell you them for the lower price providing the mistake is found before you pay your money for the more expensive price. They do have the right to refuse to sell you them at the more expensive price and then can correctly price the item. But if you have paid for something and see it marked cheaper, than they have to do something about it.

Anthilll is correct - when I used to work in a shop, anything that was priced lower than the tills pirice has to be sold at the price on display.
You have the right to contact trading standards about false pricing and the lack of effort taken to correct the issue.

We had this drummed into us, as every, and I mean each individual item, that is priced lower than the till expects is subject to a £1000 fine - no-one can force you to buy something that higher than the advertised price.

Conversely, you can't charge a higher priced item which is lower on the till either. But that's a happy surprise for the customer, and we didn't stress about them too much.

So if you're still peeved, contact Trading Standards.

Firebomb the shop then ;)

Best thing is to get onto Trading Standards - get official on their asses.

but that is not the point, you are the consumer and they are the retailer - who would screw you for as much as they could, so should that opportunity present itself, sod it i say.

The shop always has the right to remove summat from sale. Right in front of you.

Although they are obliged to sell for whatever price is marked on the POS, it is still only and invitation to buy and not a final contract.

I have done this plenty of times when people annoy me in work. Its great fun!

Allsports did bugger up a bit there though.

A while back I went into Allsports to pick up a job application form. I waited for ages at the till (there was no queue) to ask for a form while the cashiers chatted to each other, and decided I didn't want to work there after all.

I can't help feel the whole incident is a little petty, fuck them and shop elsewhere, I know I will.
Your right but it comes down to who is lying you or the store manager. The Manager should really have done you them for 50, beacuse that 20 quid they tried it on with has cost them way more now. I will not shop there, but I doubt you will get a result from trading standards.
If it makes you feel better drop some litter in the shop, a few snotty hankies etc.
