So what aer you're opinions on the Michael Jackson case...

Did he commit a crime, and is guilty as hull
Or is he innocent, and it's just another case of someone trying to get cash off the rich and famous?
Or do you just not care about the whole media circus, and would like to see some proper news about what is going on in our world?

personally, I think the latter - he may have done something illegal, or he may not, it doesnt really affect me. I'm sure there are thousands if not millions of similar cases in US courts every year, how many of them get 1/3 of the channel 4 news show devoted to them???

CNN spouted:3 Mericans and 2 Iraqis die in Bradley FV this morning. 2 more badly hurt.

George Bush aid says Dubya said he would attack Iraq before 11/09/01.

Hutton report? Impeach Bliar?

Guess how I voted?

Don't care - used to listen to some of his muzak when I was younger.. Time has passed and he's gotten freakier faster than I have, so any appearances - turn over!

Good point. The whole media circus about it is blinding me to the possibility that he may be a kiddie fiddler.

So - I don't care about the show - how many millions are being spent on defending/prosecuting/making TV shows/Film rights/24hr news coverage/etc.

Rather than being spent on much more useful society issues - like kiddie fiddlers and the removal of their genetalia/ education / health care - you now, stuff that doesn't sell magazines or tv shows...

Im not really that bothered, im not even sure he will get a fair trial. Im certain he is fairly mad, so shouldn't be allowed to stand trial.

I'm betting he's gonna be found guilty but that he won't go to prison. Some sort of community order I reckon.

I think he's innocent.

But, I think he should be put to death just incase he considers doing it in the future.

Nah, he gets crygenically frozen - then revived a few hundred years later in Megacity 1 so that he can do a comeback tour. I know it's true, it's in Judge Dredd!

Jacko's trial will be the biggest media circus since OJ Simpson's. I'm wondering how they'll ever be able to pick a jury? Is there anyone alive who hasn't been deluged with media coverage, and can remain impartial? I smell a plea bargaining.

I agree, the man is obviously stark raving bonkers, and if it weren't for the fact that he had created some startling good pop music early in his career (including the biggest selling album ever), and was now as rich as a very very rich person, then he would surely have been comitted.

I don't think he is guilty of the things that he is currently accused of, but then I also think that he has a very distorted world view, and he may on occasion do things that seem perfectly reasonable to him, but would be outragous to other peoples point of view.

I also agree that he will probably not get a fair trial, this one will be decided much more by the media than by what happens inside the court.

I don't think he did it, I may be proved wrong, but when it costs you $27,000,000 or whatever ridiculous amount of money he paid that first boy off with out of court, then you learn your lesson from what you aren't supposed to do with kids that don't belong to you and don't do it again. I refuse to believe, regardless of his childlikeness, that he is as stupidly naive as he would have us believe.

I think the parents that let their kids stay there should stand trial for neglect, they were probably hoping he would do something so they coulkd 'cash in'

And you're basing this theory on???????

How many kids do you have?????????

would you feel comfortable sending your kids to stay at his place? after the 'out of court settlement' thing with that kid a few years ago?

Is that good parenting?

I would question anyone who let their kids go to stop with someone who didnt know this person well.

I dont think he is naive, I think he is stark raving bonkers. If he wasnt a multimillionaire and lived in your area he would be the bloke everyone would avert their eyes from save having a conversation with him.

Why bother? Because most people think of nonces as pathetic powerless desperadoes who can be flicked off the fringes of society very easily, and that the whole problem of child abuse is just a matter of rounding up a few wierdos that nobody really cares about.

Here is a(n alleged) nonce who has power, money and public support. Here is someone who thinks he can do what he like with people who don't have the power he has.

People who transcend poor backgrounds on the basis of talent in a particular area are generally to be admired, but they ought not be forgiven everything.

I really think Jackson has committed sexual abuse against children, one of the worst things someone can do, and even if Off the Wall etc. were to my taste it still wouldn't excuse that. If we can take down this (alleged) nonce then no nonce is safe. That's why I'm voting guilty, yer worship.

Oh, and by the way - I actually think his art can only improve if he is in an environment where he has to take a long hard look at himself, and Neverland Ranch is not that place.

Can't wait untill he has to make statements and actually speak whilst being cross examined in court. It will be like a rabbit caught in headlights, stuttering in his stupid voice: "I, I, I don't understand why you're being so mean to me! All I wanted to do was to love these children, they're, they're, they're so beautiful. I love them, I really do..."
