did you defrag your machine after the uninstall?

try that and then reinstall, might work?

The memory could not be "read".

Why would that last word be in quotes?

I have no idea - not freeware tho, was working fine, defragging machine at the moment but i cannot see how that would cause any problems.

registry problem methinks. Chances are its a commen one, so check around help forums to see if anyones posted a fix. Otherwise i would guess a reinstall of windows would be the only solution.

But wait and see if anyone else gives anymore advice before doing anything that drastic

or cannot afford the high prices of the Flash MX / Flash software

or only needs to make simple presentations

Indeed.......

Swish 2.0 is actually quite good for text animations. Even though I would consider myself pretty good with Flash 5 and MX, I sometimes use Swish for site intro's....Less time and hassle.

Yep, so i may well go for a full reinstall, has almost been six months since my last one - this time round i will only install programs that i know i will use regulary this time.
