ok,so my boss has pulled me to one side,he has a problem with setting up an internet connection(dial-up/pay as you go)

he has tried 2 diffrent disks, and they both try to load with 'corrupt file' being the outcome!

is this really gonna be the disks? or something more sinister?

the modem?
the line?

help please people :)

like fireboy said, more info is needed, could be the age of the pc Vs the disks?

so does he mean install, which fails with corrupt file being given as the reason for the failure?

or that when opening the file it says corrupt file.. - yopu would have expected from a disk error surely that it faield to read disk .. ?

So it could be either

Like everyone else says - more input.

What operating system, what spec of the machine, does it have a modem, what are the install disks, anything useful?

The other day, spent half hour talking to a lady on the phone, trying to get sound out of her laptop - installed this, tweaked that (all by telling her what to do over phone still) turns out she had the damn thing muted!

I've had discs like that from magazines that open fine but if you try to do anything they crash the pc etc..

depends on the OS (I had the problem in win ME)

so it probably is the discs which makes you want to reassess if you want to install the software from that particular provider!!
