Has anyone else encountered the 'talking poster'???

I was down the pub the other night and whilst having a Johnny Cash a voice from a vodaphone poster informed me about picture messages.

This took me by suprise a little, lucky i didn't splash my self!

The more i thought about this the more it enraged me! Usually i can switch of to advertising, but i don't need brainwashing whilst i'm half cut.

....I think i might write to my PM. If only i knew who that was

Ha!

I haven't heard anything about these - they sound extremely annoying though.

I expect that they are fairly expensive too...

Rip the bugger down - vodaphone will soon start thinking they are a waste of money and stop making them.

PS: PM is Mr. Bush-Blair. Maybe MP would be better? ;)

I have never come across a talking poster, but I have been unfortunate enough to work somewhere which had a) a talking bin outside and b) a set of managers that would turn up for the 6am shift at about 7.30. Which meant you had to sit through an hour and a half of

"The Metropolitan Borough Of Wirral, and it's advertisers, would like to thank you for helping to keep this area clean. On behalf..."

It went off every five minutes. And it only played once each time. Im not entirely sure why the "On Behalf" was at the end. All it did was serve to remind you that you had been standing outside in subzero temperatures for yet another 5 minutes while the twat of a manager snoozed away the morning and their hangover.

My most hated announcement is at John Lennon airport..

"For the convinience of ALL passengers, smoking is prohibited throughout this terminal"

which is a bare faced lie, because I and alot of smokers are inconvinienced. (I don't mind the no smoking policy, just the way in which it is nagged into you like you are a leper!)
