Has a country ever been treated with such contempt by an elected Prime Minister as the UK is now by Blair. He worms his way out of every little corner he's backed himself into. The latest being he didn't know the 45 minute claim referred to battlefield weapons only. He's the PM, it's his job to know isn't it? How many MPs who voted in favour of the war, on the grounds Saddam could have WMD operational in 45 minutes would have abstained or voted against it. Blair is treating the country like idiots and getting away with it repeatedly.

Let's face it though - he's only got one more year tops, and he's probably opened a book at William Hill on how much he can screw us over and take the piss before he gets the boot.

I'm reckoning the last couple of 'health scares' were to enable him to step down with 'dignity' when the time comes for Brown to take over - you watch, he'll have another one quite soon ;-)

I loved him on the news the other day when he stated it wasnt up to the public to decide if us going to war was wrong, it was up to politicians.

Talk about stinking of your own importance.

Well it is because we live in a representative democracy.

Isn't that an admission that he got it wrong then and that the 45 minute claim was bullshit and that the Hutton Report was a sham and that MP's were drawn into war on false pretences and that he's incompetant and that he should resign????

Or is that too simple?

To us, yes, to Blair, no.

He is saying that at the time of the vote he was not aware that the 45 minute claim referred to short range missiles.

For once in my life I admired Robin Cook who stood in the house and stated that he was shocked that the Prime Minister hadnt been given access to the same intelligence he had received.

This is becoming a farce of the highest order. We know he lied, he is fudging the issue and refusing to correctly address the points.

Seems to me that he's crossed a line here.

He says he didn't know that the 45 minutes referred only to battlefield weapons, and yet Robin Cook and that arsehole Hoon both did. That sounds like either incompetence or lying to parliament.

Whichever it is he should resign, but then Hoons ministry clearly failed to do its job and he refuses to accept responsibility for it, so it's unlikely that Blair will accept personal responsibility for his actions.

Funny isn't it? the Chairman and DG of the BBC accept that they made serious mistakes and resign. Politicians nowadays seem to stay until forced out.

I wonder, could Blair face criminal charges if he took us to war under false pretences? Maybe he needs to stay around long enough to shred some documents........

While I totally agree with the fact that Blair lied, I'm not too sure that I agree with this guy

He is full of shite. Cos when addressing our lads and lasses in the war he said "Weapons of mass distraction"
If he knows he is in the wrong he should do the right thing and resign.
I never liked him any way he smiles way to much.
