This flows along with the Merry England coffeee thing, has anyone been in a shop called BOYES? This is a weird shop. It sells everything you could imagine, is the tatiest place on the planet, stores are in Darlington, Barnard Castle - anywhere else? But the sad thing in today's slick world of retailing it's a place a quite like.

Next thing I'll be talking about Mikes carpets, now that's a thing.....

jason are you from barny?

boyes is a shitty shop all right
i seem to recall on the carrier bags that they are also in some other non-descript durham/yorkshire area towns
northallerton or thirsk or somewhere?

I once set a box full of mouse traps in the barnard castle branch, so they all went off together when someone grabbed one

(while we're on about that area, what about jamies tile warehouse)

(ooh, what about tidy cars!)

Scarborough and Northallerton have branches of Boyes.

The boyes in Scarborough has about 3 floors. I remeber as a kid (cough 25 years ago) going there to see the monkey they had in a cage on one of the floors. Fucking bizzare.

I also thought it was only in Scarborough until just recently I started noticing them everywhere. That freaked me out a bit too.

It'll be "Franks Factory Flooring" next. That is one annoying advert on the radio.

North-Eastern thing to be exact (my grandparents live over there) - does seem a bizarre spot. Kinda like a poor man's Debenhams?

(Same goes for Binns)

theres two stores in hull and im sure theres one in bridlington
also.

one strange thing is the way most of the staff seem to resemble the workers from "are you been served"

the scarborough branch as 3 dead ringers for mr humphries
" im free " and theres a few mrs slocombes working there also..
