i saw a Jesus on the cross with rubberized chest lacerations, but it was an out-take the jesus actor was candidly conversing with the stage 'grips' while the 'cross' was not raised verticlly...

Unlike everyone else who's commented on this film I might actually see the film first, think about it, then comment on it. Hey, it's a bit different, but I'll give it a go and see what happens.

If I could fight anyone, I'd fight Jesus 'El Saviour' Christ.

lol read in the independant today that they are selling pendants with "crucifixtion style nails"attached to promote the film. Would like to see it though, think mel may've finally lost his marbles :P Nothing like a good bit of controversy

There are two main points in the crucifixion story upon which the entire Christian faith depends, and Gibson missed them both:

a) that Christ copped that suffering for the sins of the world. That linkage wasn't clear in the film.

b) the fact that he rose from the dead. There was a bit of that, yeh, but about 20 seconds - as opposed to ten minutes of slo-mo, splatter-pic gore and rubber.

I don't want to see it.
I think a lot of it will be based on Rosicrucian symbols, and it will only depress me.
But I am going to see the Book of Mormon with my mom- it looks hillarious!

I think I'l;l go and see it to see what all the fuss is about but it sounds like it's all about the controversy and nothing else. But then is that particularly new? A little bit of bad publicity goes a long way, look at 'stigmata'.

I see that a number of churches are offering free cinema tickets to go and see this as they believe the power of the media will help to fill churches again ..

For anyone who can't afford a ticket it helps. That _is_ just my opinion as I havn't got the technology to print tickets on my own, just yet..
