My cable comapany adelphia is a proper monopoly, their internet connection is fast, never down, and so is the dijjy tv.
But it seems TiVo DVR wasn't compatible with all the channels, I especially wanted OLN, who did the "Le Tour De France",
So I 'rented abot 8-10 quid / month om top of the 115 bucks a month now-Adelphia DVR box, they just added this service three weeks ago and naturally the first week was a lost cause
but today, i have a dvr and i recorded 5 shows (these shows have "Season passes" anytime they 'air-usually 5 nights M-F) it automaticlly records them,
..tonight i am enjoying tv shows i miss working nights, and i can pause it to cook , also "...fast foward thru adverts, " is real nice adverts gone in 10 seconds versus 5 minutes,
dogbomb was asking how it was, he's too inquisitive sumt, YES, it's all dat Simon, get one now want my TiVo? Princess Diana audio tapes on ABC Tv this week , i can download them too. Chasles was so bad, winking at 'her'

Have you used tivo bubba, is it any good? This modern technology, I remember when there was only 3 channels and most of them were only on for half a day and they shut down at midnight with a rousing chorus of the National Anthem guaranteed to send you flying out of your chair covered in snot and dribble after dozing off through the late film.

Sky+ is a similar sort of idea, but with 'Push' technology. If you have it enabled, Sky can automatically set your box to record programmes "where there is an indication that they might interest you".

Creepy shit.

Whoever supplies the service theres never enough channels never enough programmes never enough adverts, sooner or later they have it fixed that theres no off button on the set. On my set there really is no off button. Thats just the way it is !

true
so true
it needs daily attention to delete programs that are recorded 3 times a day, hell, you dvr is filled in 2-3 days that way.
and it's like taking out dust bins essentially

but for 10-15 quid, to take editorial control/per month :)
i generally record 10 shows a day, half of which i had instantly hit the 'red' record button and watch something else-while the fave program records on the hard drive, the others i used the online weekly tv guide.
..see a good show, (longer the better0, hit RECORD, and watch it later FFW through commercial adverts
...is funny, try and explain this to peeps on the bus, they are DVR illiterate, and they think your a scrubber
