How would one hypothetically go about finding out the costs of plastic surgery and how to get the best deals?
I'm thinking that if the average chav girl can afford a boob job then the rest of us should be able to as well?
This information is of course not required for me but for a friend....

It's a better idea to choose a good doctor instead of going with a good deal. I'm sure online you can find all the info, but make sure they're certified. I might have to have surgery- not cosmetic, but reconstructive, and it will run me $7000, which is about 3-4000 pounds I think. My mom has had to have 3 surgeries this year alone, so if you need help let me know. :)

Ta! The trouble with online information is there's just so bloody much of it and it's all largely advertising so one is reluctant to actually believe it.
Cosmetic surgery appears to be cheaper in Brussells than London- £3,700 (ish) for a boob job here but £2000 (ish) for one there- I don't really understand why this is and if it's true.
Also most places don't actually give you a price until you go for a consultation which costs £30 alone- it just seems like a bloody minefield trying to work out how to go about it!

I would speak to someone who has had it done, and if they liked the way they were treated, and happy iwth the results go to their doctor.

Reccomendations mean alot in things like this.

I found some doctors, but I am not sure of your location.

This doctor is certified and also does work in Greenwich Connecticut. That's where a lot of rich old ladies are. It's imperative to have them certified. I was looking for prices too- but the doctor is more important than the price. Check all their credentials.

Don't, li'l al, don't. Unless you are going to get the implants right up against yer pecs it is going to look atrocious, and feel atrocious when those who love you hug you.

don't fret- it's for my friend who's just found out she has breast cancer- although to say i've never given it serious thought would be a blatent lie.

I was under the impression that should you have a mastectomy [sp] - removal of a breast because of cancer, you were offered reconstructive plastic surgery as part of the rehabillitation process as part of your treatment.

So she should not require to look for herself ...

[also sorry to hear this]

Where exactly is Greenwich London? I can look. And with reconstruction if she has insurance some should be covered. But insurance companies are terrible- I've been fighting with mine for 6 months over paying for my surgery. It's not elective surgery, it's necessary for health. My older brother's best friend went to Harvard with him and is a doctor. I can ask him to recommend a good one over there if you want me to.

As far as getting implants, it seems to me that a lot of girls who have perfect tits think that they are too small.

Another thing I want to say is that your friend who has been diagnosed should have the test results done again by 5 different doctors and analyzed by 5 different laboratories. There are numerous lawsuits here by women who had double masectomies and then found they never had cancer to begin with. I wish you luck. :)

I expect she will be, but you know what it's like when you initally get a shock like that- you want to find out all the information and possibilities. The NHS didn't really tell her too much about what happens after the cancer's gone so we've taken it upon ourselves to find out what's available- and with a resource like dogbomb at my fingertips it would be silly not to use it!

What I would suggest she does is speak to the doctors. I dont have recent experience of this, but know someone who had it done a few years ago. The doctors didnt like her to have any reconstruction done for 3 years afterwards to ensure that they have no further problems.

Its also worth bearing in mind they do some fantastic implants now which you can purchase special bra's for. The jelly inserts look and feel very real ( I know I have left some of them) I think the inserts my friend had were about £150, but, considering how important they can be in how you look they were worth their money in gold.
