I thought no Copmputer Gaming forum on any site should be without a thread on GTA 3.

I love this game. I bought it only about a month ago and have played virtually nothing since. If you haven't got it, then get it. Ok

Freedom of Liberty City is what this game is all about. You can do anything. Anything that moves you can steel, anyting that walks you can kill. That is what is so great about this game. Its a very simple thing but not that many game developers have managed to pull it off so stylishly. The missions are non stop. One of my fav missions is when you gotta assasinate a mafia don. You can kill him any way you like but I blocked the enterance to his house on Portland Island with a bus and when he was coming home from his nightclub and came to a stop near the bus I lept out of a car ran to his and threw a few bombs. Next, all hell broke loose and I was careening down a road with the car door flying open and a hail of bulllets and angry Italian gangsters in my wake. Beutiful (Pooper wipes a tear from his eye) :) There are many more mission in the game to complete and even if you do manage to get a 100% completion you will never get bored of the game. Ever.

For those of us who have played it. I thought it would be good to discuss some of the games secrets. So if you are a newbie to GTA 3 the following will contain some spoilers.

Ok did you know that there is actually four cities in GTA 3 instead of the 3 obvious ones? There is a ghost town off Shoreside Vale You can't get there by car and even if you do manage to gat there you cannot actually walk around and explore because you will just fall through to the sea and die. It is basicly a ghost town, one street. It is the same street that is in the very first cut scene in the game where you can see the liberty city bank.

The only way to get there is to fly. If you go to shoreside vale airport and get a Dodo plane and somehow manage to get the lil fucker to fly then you can get there. This is a near impossible thing to do. I have managed to fly back to Staunton Island but can't seem to keep the thing up in the air.

Anyways it has been done before because I have seen pics of it on the net. There is also another way to see the ghost town thru the sniper rifle scope but you gotta position yourelf properly on some hill somewhere. I have yet to try this.

Any other people here who know of any secrets in GTA3?
There are loads of Walkthru's an Faq's on the net only I try to stay away from these untill I fave compelted the game.
Love to hear yer thoughts.

The version on kazaa won't let you save for some reason, well actually it will let you save but when you go to load the save game it freezes. But netniV has a copy on the way...

minez is a ps2 game and the only quible I have with it is that the controls are a bit dodgy when you try to shoot someone. That is the only quible if its worth mentioning at all.

And just how many times does she die? and what has that to do with GTA 3? You run her over in a taxi, before using a police car to flag down an ambulence to transfer her to the morg/

I was considering giving her a few mills of insulin in her food that should speed the process up, we can have a game to guess which will get her first, the cancer in the brain, or the insulin coma. I have to send doggie some stuff ( new hd and some ram), so i will do it at the same time as i do his, when i sent him Photoshop 7 and flash mx etc it only took 3 business days from here ( australia ) to there, so it won't be to long.

Personally i don`t like it one bit on the PC. The lack of gamepad support is a BIG MISTAKE and something I honestly can`t believe they didn`t do.

Also it requires a pretty rediculous pc spec for it to even play in a half-decent resolution. I`d go as far as saying it needs a geforce3 to even come close to seeing it in its full glory.

Its another half assed console conversion I wished they`d never released. It makes me wonder in what direction the pc games market is heading. Its like unless your willing to build a new pc every 2 year and spend around £200+ per year on a new graphics card every BIG new title released is going to run slow on your pc.

Getting a console for playing games is sooooooo much easier.

I seen some Pc version screenshots and I must say that they look better than the Ps2. Obviously these come from a high spec pc tho. But I also read about how the programmers have tweeked some of the game. For example: Mafia bosses hang around on street corners instead of walkin randomly all over the place like they did on the ps2. It's little details like these that make a truly great game. Also there was gonna be a multiplayer option on the pc version but it was pulled on the 11th hour cuz they thought it was 'rushed'.
I personally can't wait to get my mits on GTA 3 Vice City later this year. Its set in the '80s and your supposed to be able to travel on land sea and air (helicopter and light aircraft). So the rumour goes. :)
