Tonight, I'm working a hideous 14-hour overnight shift (7pm to 9am) and apart from a couple of pre-rolled exotic fags in my bag, I have nowt but Dogbomb to keep me going through the wee small hours (such fucker). I feel fucking knackered already, and I haven't even really broken the back of it yet.

So A) anyone got any good advice as to how to possibly get through the night without going completely hatstand, and B) what the fuck is everyone else doing up at this time (BST Dogbombers, obv)?

If you wanna stay awake try Pro-plus and lots of coffee. If you dont wanna stay awake, set your alarm, have a couple of hours kip. Used to 12 hour nights, 5 days in a row. Didnt add anything intersting to 2 years of my life.

i love night shift. my internal clock seems to be set for the opposite of normal folk so its a great option for me. unfortunatly my work doesnt have a night shift.

Yeah, I work nights normally but finish at 2am so it's kinda nice. But actually working THROUGH the night, so you see dawn come up out the office windows, is a bit fucking depressing.

Well, in time-honoured fashion, there's only one way to relieve the crushing boredom: I'm off to the bogs for a wank :D

i've only done one night shift working in a printing company.

7pm to 7am loading paper into the machines and watching them slowly clunk through 100,000 letters. load the paper and watch them clunk slowly through 100,000 letters, load the....

highlight of the night. getting up to $700 on solitaire before loosing it all :(

apart from that you could say working as a postman is permanet nights.
