stoke_fields Apr 24, 2004, 14:48 Agghh! My eyes... my precious eyes!
And it just snuck up on me out of nowhere. Curse you summer... curse you and your ways!
*shakes fist blindly*
Ugh_tC Apr 24, 2004, 14:56 Is it summer already?
Damn.
postal postie Apr 24, 2004, 15:05 my eyes have been stinging for the last week now.

I know! Nobody told me...
Gattara Apr 24, 2004, 15:53 You know it's summer when you start getting electric shocks from your car.
And surely anti-histamine is cheaper not on prescription? Particularly the Galpharm ones - their paracetamol is also dead cheap but exactly the same as the big name stuff.
Ugh_tC Apr 24, 2004, 16:14 Dont' talk to me about anti-fookin-hystamines - had one last night since I was havin a skin problem - went round to my mates house afterwards, and forgot about the sleep inducing qualities...
had to wait for an age and eat acurry until I was awake enough to drive home!
last time I use those fookers
ahh hayfever i wish it would sod off
i tried some of them galpharm anti dodahs and they arnt very good the doctor prescribes stronger ones and i usually get a lovely thing you squirt up your nose and smells like fibre glass .... oh what joy!
every morning i get up apply my make-up and within half an hour my eyes have watered so much ive washed all my make up away !! total waste of time
netniV Apr 24, 2004, 16:52 I have been told I have All-Year hayfever, and whilst I don't often get runny eyes, I do get short random bursts of sneezing no matter what time of year it is, though it occurs far more when it's in season!

you pay your prescription money ('bout 6Ģ) and you get 30 tabs. you don't get that much for 6Ģ in the chemist.
a good cure for it is flat coke.....o wait...i thought you said hang-over :(
Gattara Apr 24, 2004, 18:41 Oh well Mr Postie, if you get 30 tablets then great - go for it! I don't use them enough to bother the doctor. Though the incessant sneezing thing is rhinitis - for which you can get Beconase by prescription, but can also now get it (a smaller version) over the counter. It do work quite goodly and be worth a try.
Or try inhaling flat coke (if it doesn't work, blame Sammy!)

How fine do I cut it then?
Flip Gubbins Apr 24, 2004, 19:09 You donīt snort it, you grind it into a buttey.
UnoChild Apr 24, 2004, 19:52 My eyes are burning. My nose is stuffy. My throat is dry. I am overtired. It is not nice. I am not happy. Meh! Hot weather sucks!! :(
AnthillMob Apr 24, 2004, 19:56 im not sure if i get hayfeever or not. my eyes are fine but my poor old nozzle runs like a bastard sometimes.
i did get tablets years ago biut they did fuck all apart from make me drowsy.
Cloudane Apr 24, 2004, 23:15 Horrible horrible horrible. I remember it well, and offer my deepest sympathy.
Beer helps, the strong and more guest-ale-like the better :D
Jedichef Apr 25, 2004, 05:30 clarityn. great hayfever tablets.
I only get it some years ( when I am very stressed) and then I have the injection because it lasts and its cheaper.

Agghh! My eyes... my precious eyes!
I've always had a problem with the eyes thing until this year.
I was prescribed some anti-histamine eye drops by a new doctor, to go with the Clarityn that i've always taken.
No more sticky or scratchy eyes. It's called Opticrom.
It's my friend.

Do I call him Doctor?
Jedichef Apr 26, 2004, 00:13 you can call him anything you like. i spoke to him earlier and i called him cunt.

Mein eyes! The goggles do nothing!
I get hayfever like a bastard, but only at certain times when certain plants are flowering.
I was speaking to my chemist, and she suggested lots of onions: Apparantly the whole ticture of Alum thing is a good anti-histamine. So lots of onion soup for me, followed by a good toothbrushing.

I'm not sticking dope up my schnozz!
Jedichef Apr 26, 2004, 11:39 any attempt at such would see you declared as "a dope"

Hayfever is an invention of a cruel and capricious God inflicted on those who enjoy summer too much.
/me opens his head up and scoops the itchy stuff out

Me too! Do you remember when they were called Triludan Forte. They took those off the market as they were too strong.
I've never had the same kick since.
Cheers you reminded me to get some this evening cos I is out...:)
Hmm might try Zirtec this time see if they is any better,,
Mariska Apr 27, 2004, 07:39 We're over it here for a few months. The itchy burning eyes were a bastard. Hubby suffers hay-fever all year round and sneezes at a volume that could cause damage to your hearing. He uses Rhinocourt.
I use clarityn prescribed by doctor, as i get more tablets for my money. Hayfever sucks, especially when you're also asthmatic.
GuinnessMeister Apr 27, 2004, 08:28 I've never suffered with hayfever, although they say it can sneak up on you at any time of life.
Hopefully i'll manage to avoid it for a while longer...
GuinnessMeister spouted:

I never had it untill, aged 18, I had a cocktail of drugs pumped into me for when I went to South America. When I came back it hit me like an Omnibus from above.
Mikey G Apr 27, 2004, 17:16 Being a veteran Hay Fever sufferer of some 20 years here are my top tips:
- Piriton make you sleepy but do the job
- All homeopathic remedies are useless
- If you find yourself with a runny nose and itchy eyes the only cure apart from Piriton is alcohol. You never get hay fever when you are blind drunk
