i love tool. i have all their albums except for opiate. but i've jsut seen two of their music videos and they have some of the most disturbing images i've seen in a video. just pure weird things like strange alians with pulsating face masks and big fat people vomiting black goo up onto a table. not to mention the previously mentioned alian being chopped in half for all to see.

Are you sure you weren't at a Ministry gig?

Tool has some intriguing imagery in their videos its true. Their videos can be quite mesmerizing. As far as I'm concerned its part of what they are about, and is more than appropriate, its awesome. Maynard is an amazing artist, and he naver ceases to produce art that I love.

The artwork on their CD's is incredible it has to be said - it feels so personal like it was made specially just for you. If more bands took this kind of care over presentation I'm sure more CD's would be bought as opposed to ripped!

the video i saw ended with the guy being engulfed in these flaming eyes like the front cover of their latest album.

mesmerizing is a good word to describe it although i still finished watching it thinkign 'what the hell was that all about.' a weird man with tube coming out from behind his eyes? weird bi-pedal humanoid creatures showing each other a knife? long legged pulsating masked creatures. and what exactly does it have to do with the song parabola?

A Perfect Circle are good, but not convinced they are as good as Tool were. Everything about Tool was good, but the APC albums seem to be more patchy - still good though.

As Tool Were??? Are my friend. Tool are still in this world. A Perfect Circle is merely a side project. In fact, rumours are that Tool are going back into the studio soon to record a 4th album. :D

Um as I understand it A Perfect Circle started off as a side project, but have pretty much become Maynard's band as they have more big league musicians playing now - Geordie White (Twiggy Ramirez) and James Iha.

But if you say Tool are recording a new album that can only be a good thing. I was amazed that a singer can influence the overall sound of a band so much, but then Maynard isn't your average vocalist.

I do like Perfect Circle a lot.. mainly because it shows a different side to Maynard - both lyrically and musically. A Perfect Circle are a very good band. Tool on the other hand are Gods.

Do people think it's worth me buying Opiate? I have all the other albums, but get the impression that Opiate isn't as strong. I used to have it when it first came out, but got rid of it and can't remember much about it.

Tool are still going strong, APC are still a side project (and a weak one in my opinion)

I saw tool at Live at donnington Ozzfest two years ago. they were bloody brilliant

I've got all their albums (Ripped , cus i'm a cheap bastard) and i would say the song "Sober" is in my top five songs of all time.

The only bad thing about them is that Jack Osbourne is a fan, the Fat Afro'd Bastard.

I've also got all the video's (Ripped, see previous comment about me being a cheap bastard) Very Wierd and entrancing.

Yes. Its fantastic. Buy Opiate, even if just for the last two tracks, Jerk-Off and Opiate.

I prefer Undertow, but they are all good. The rhythm patterns on Lateralus are fantastic.

Has anybody got Salival? My copy should be coming over from the US as we speak - bloody difficult to get hold of a decent copy. Somebody is selling it on Amazon.com for 300 dollars!
