Saw Explosions in the Sky on Tuesday night - they were fantastic and I've rarely seen people put so much feeling into their music - the tuneful bits were beautiful and the abrasive bits were devastating.

What made this gig really special thogh were the support - has anyone heard of a band called Amplifier? They are fucking AWESOME - a threepiece rock outfit as tight as you like - kind of remiinded me a bit of tool but with some filter and other bands thrown in - check out their website on www.amplifiertheband.com for some soundclips - I bought their album and it's fanfuckingtastic!

Another band who played were Adem, also very good but far mellower (the drumkit consisted of a tom tom). Beautiful sounds abound which I can only describe as the laid back parts of Eels but far nicer.

All in all a top evening's entertainment, just wanted to share that with ya - and do check out Amplifier; I reckon they're going to be MASSIVE!

EITS were playing at a festival in Glasgow a couple of weeks ago. I didn't know much about them and went to see Four Tet instead.
After about half an hour of his glitchy laptop shenanigans, most of the crowd, me included, had drifted away to go and watch EITS instead.
I only caught 2 songs, but was blown away.
They were awesome, dude.

I know - they're one of those rare bands that have actually make me gasp for breath. I've never heard just three electric guitars and a drum kit used to such emotionally charged effect. Certain parts of their music really tear me apart, and seeing them live was astonishing. You can tell it's pretty emotional stuff just by listening to the CD's but when you actually see them throw their heart and soul into it, the experience is taken to another dimension.

I fuckng love 'em (can you tell?)

Dammmmmit, after your last post, I checked the website and saw they were playing on the 1st May in Glasgow, I promised myself I'd go, but I missed it.

Better find an album to cheer me up.
