Am I mad for comparing the two? There seems to be some level of equivalency here but I'm not sure on what level.

I'm fully prepared for the inevitable Streets/Eminem slag-fest that will no doubt ensue, but should anybody have any thoughts regarding links and differences between these two artists I would be genuinely interested to hear.

For the record I think Eminem is fantastic and proudly own all his albums.

Note this isn't a thread designed to question who people think is better, more what sort of comparisons can be drawn between the two.

Eminem is one of the best MCs around. Especially when he is pissed off... some of his best work is done when someone's annoyed him.

His last album was god-awful trash though. A very unwelcome image change.


Mike Skinner however is no-where near the standard Eminem ever will be. Eminem produces lots of rappers on Shady Records thesedays, and is making quite a dollar. Mike Skinner is just having fun, taking the piss out of him and the culture he was brought up in.

You couldn't compare the two, and this thread dissapointed me as I hoped someone had done a remix of the two guys.
