england have only there selfs to blame for going out of euro 2004.

at 1-0 england came out in the second have with the negative atitude
of winning the game 1-0.

england should have gone all out for a second goal
only they thought they could hold portugal to 1-0

we never learned fuck all from the france game.
we should have stuck another striker on and played with 2 up front

i believe portugal would have crumbled if we had attacked them in the
second half.

yes we was robbed by the goal being disallowed but for every bad decision against you , you get a good decision for you sooner or later.

well done portugal for never giving up and for fighting back in the second
half though englands tactics where what let you fight back

While it is true we didn't play well overall. We did however play when it meant we would lose. England always do better when they are a goal behind. But the Campbell goal should have stood and it wasn't a foul by any means. Therefore no extra time, no penalties England should have won.

Their play was shit, I admit... but Portugal's wasn't too crackin' either. England went on the defensive, stopped pressurising their opposing defense, and started conceding the ball too willingly. This is never, ever, ever a good tactic, 'cause it's only a matter of time before the opposing strikers get lucky.

However, England didn't lose because of lack of commitment, they lost from dubious refereeing decisions.

Yes, it is baffling how, with the game against Croatia, where we played the ball to each other, attacked and attacked, having been one of the most exciting games, and best England displays, I have ever seen, we reverted to boring old 'get one on the break, then hope we can defend for the rest of the game' idiocy!

Why oh why oh why?!@?!?@

Even without Rooney we would have won at least 2-1 if we'd played like we did against Croatia.

I'm baffled, I really, really am.

Because the Engalnd team don't learn from their mistakes. Nobody will admit they played badly, instead defeat will be blamed on the ref, Wayne Rooney being injured, penalty kicks etc. Nevermind they were dreadful against the Swiss, had the wrong tactics against France and played badly last night there will always be an excuse why they didn't win.

Same thing happened in the last world cup against Brazil, trying to defend a lead, playing badly nothing seems to have been learnt from that. Oh and the atttitude of Michael Owen "These tournaments come round every two years" doesn't sound like someone who is trying to hard.

Plus Phil Neville should not be allowed near the Engalnd team ever agin.
