Will not be recinded by UEFA according to teletext, despite the fact he was the victim of a blatant dive by Groenkaer (spelling?).Cards can only be recinded when the player`s been the victim of mistaken identity by the ref, anyone else think this is a cop-out by the authorities? As usual.

I've seen a few slo-mo replays of the incident and it does appear that he clipped Gronkjaer's heel before Gronkjaer went down. if it's a deliberate foul from behind, he should get a card.

UEFA are reluctant to overrule a referee if there's any doubt about the decision, and I think that this is a rare example of UEFA getting it right policy-wise.

Interesting because for once,UEFA didnt stick up for the ref and say he got it right they merely said they cant recind a card in that circumstance, from the replays I saw Gronkjaer wasnt touched and he made a meal of it if he was,but I could be wrong.

It's a bit of a joke that his card will stand. I'm not surprised UEFA won't review it, because that would open up the chance for admitting a ref got something wrong. The ref must have no conscience because he would surely have seen it back on a replay by now and it is clear to see that Nedved tried to get out of the way and did get out of the way.

Even thought here was no contact, Grønkjær goes flying, actually tries to strike Nedved on his way past through the air and then to top it all off, pulls Nedved's hair. At the end of all this, UEFA are happy for Nedved's yellow card to stand and the matter to be closed. Amazing.

I think it's a cop-out on UEFA's part. They should bin Nedved's yellow card and issue a restrospective red card to Grønkjær.

Another yellow card in the Semi and one of the best midfielders in the World will possibly miss the final, whilst that will benefit the opposition it wont do anything for football in general.
