Hi all

I have a problem with the google toolbar on my laptop - the problem being is that it just doesn't appear :ymca:

I am running Windows 2000 and it was working until a few months ago. Since then I have had a few problems with adware which have now all been deleted but for the life of me I cannot get google to appear again.

To date I have removed & reinstalled google, checked and unchecked the option in the toolbars menu - but nothing.

Any advice or help would be gratefully received.

Cheers
Mike

When I first downloaded the google toolbar, it actually came with adware.. i ran ad-aware and it removed everything for me, including the google toolbar. Maybe the same happened to you.. I dont really know how to fix it, but since google gave me adware, i never reinstalled that toolbar again.

Do you have another toolbar or one of those crappy smiley central progs installed in your browser? That can stop it installing cos I had the same problem.

As far as I know Spybot Search and Destroy remove the Google toolbar, they really aren't fans of Google at all...

I've used Spybot search and destory from the very first version and still using it at the latest version and its never ever removed the google toolbar. And the same goes for adware, so don't know what you guys are doing! , Even google doesn't bring up any results when you put in search and destroy errors with the toolbar, So Geoneil you must be unique or non of you are downloading the toolbar from googles website. On topic of the adware shite with the toolbar, The only time you will get adware from it is if you select the 'Send information about the sites you visit to google' and also have page rank and blog this activated.... So then again its the user who is at fault like 99% of the time...I thank you

[QUOTE=scottydog]To date I have removed & reinstalled google, checked and unchecked the option in the toolbars menu - but nothing.

I was having a similar problem w/ Windows XP. I finally fixed the problem playing with the 'View-Toolbars-Lock Toolbar the Toolbars' option somehow.

Good luck--

No solution to this, but have to add.... I run Sbybot and Adaware and both my PCs - laptop- Google toolbar is fine, desktop- it disappeared several months ago and has never returned. I too have tried downloading again, mucking around with toolbar options etc....no joy.

I would add that you could use Mozilla, which has a google search built in, but then I'd be one of those Linux/Mozilla wankers for whom ditching Microsoft is the answer to EVERYTHING.

Google Toolbar too

On the option of "highlighting a serch term" ( the yellow marker ) you can highlight a word but not when it's end with , say : 's . Like "Michael" yes but not "Michael's" even if I did mentioned both words on the address/search bar . What should I do ?
