since I formatted my drive and re-installed spamkiller,there doesn't seem to be any way of stopping it from opening my outlook express each time some new mail is filtered.Can anyone offer a way of stopping this other than to switch spamkiller on just before using it.

remove the configuration settings in outlook and use a decent mail package? could solve a whole host of security probs at the same time.

what's a decent mail package?

the program you need is outlook 2003 but its only available in the ms office software which is pricey.

it has the best junk mail filter i have ever seen though, no need for any other software!

Mozilla Thunderbird is a non-Microsoft and free client with a biult in spam-killer that I like to use, there are others mind and you have to spend some time teaching it what is spam and what isn't but the spam-killer is at your (local) end rather than your e-mail provider's, which I prefer.

Why not just get a different spam blocker? There's loads of free ones at download.com
