View Full Version : If you have children
Just wondered from my comments and Sarah's comments in another thread if you have children do you find boys easier or girls? If you do have children how old are they ?
I always found my boys easier to handle when they were younger for things like they were less likely to have tantrums. They would play for hours on thier own with a box of cars or some other favourite toy. I should prob say for those who don't know i had 4 boys two who were my stepchildren and two of my own.
Wereas the girls always had to have me doing something with them they would follow me round even to the extent of going to the loo with me.
In a way the lads are harder work i think now to some degree because i tend to worry more about them if they go out for a night out.
Obviously the youngest girl dosen't yet go out but since starting secondary school she's developed this little twinkle in here eye when she speaks of a certain lad lol so im getting ready for the next stage of puberty and teenage angst now.
Eldest daughter all sorted out in her own house with partner good job etc so she really is no worry to me now. ( Is that tempting fate i wonder ) :)
netniV Jul 24, 2004, 23:22 Personally, both sexes can be as obnoxious as the other at times, and yet still be as damn charming and cute as ever. My two are both girls, and one was real quiet whilst the other was the spits of me, to be sure. I never really had a problem with her as long as I was as reasonable with her as I expected her to be with me.
Mariska Jul 25, 2004, 00:50 I always wanted a girl - because I came from a family with 4 girls and 1 boy who was a lot older than me. I had a boy first off and he was so great I was happy to have 2 more of the same. My eldest 2 were never a problem. We've always gotten on and still do. The youngest went right off the rails for awhile. He's straightened himself out now but our relationship still has its ups and downs.
I tend to think if I had daughters I'd be an embarressment to them.
Cyberhun Jul 25, 2004, 09:41 My son is six and my neice is three months older than him, they have grown up like twins as they see each near enough every day and are even in the same class at school.
As babies, my boy was as good as gold, and she..well..wasn't.
At the age they are now, well , he is very contented to run along and do his own thing, amuse himself whilst she likes to be round the adults, when they go to parties together the birthday childs parent will always comment that Eva followed her round everywhere all day whilst Alfie got on with things.
The only problem I have with Alfie is at school, and this is because although his teacher says he is an intelligent child, he is forever chatting when he is supposed to be quiet and finds it hard to sit still for too long, whilst Eva is the perfect angel at school!
sarah conor Jul 25, 2004, 10:27 My daughter is 8, and generaly has always been as good as gold. She is content to do things on her own and always has been, right now she is reading The Twits by Roald Dahl rather than being glued to the tv or driving me mad with can I this or can I that...
My boys however are hooligans... Eldest is neary 4 and the youngest is nearly two, They both constantly want something, are always climbing, jumping or breaking something and I probaly trip over them at least a dozen times a day where they follow me around. (now I know where the term ankle biters comes from.)
Give me girls anyday.
Not that I'd change my boys for the world.
SweetGalenas Jul 25, 2004, 20:17 When I found out I was pregnant, I prayed for a boy. All I could think of was that I'd end up beheading a daughter if she turned out like me. I had given my mother hell. I did have a son, and he is truly the light of my life. He's easy to get along with, and isn't materialistic, like most of my friend's daughters are.
I have a son and a daughter, they both are well manner and repectful to others.
My son is 16, plays double bass in a brass band, he also plays the saxaphone (self taught). He spends most of his time on his X-box or playstation. He goes to college studing computers.
My daughter is 13, plays cornet in the brass band, she also plays the clarinet, violin and panio (self taught). She spends her spare time reading books anything from Enid Blyton to Shakepear. Her favorite author is Edward Lear.
Both are great, wouldn't change them for the world. :) :) :)
