View Full Version : nintendo
catch_52 Aug 19, 2002, 04:47 just found out that my 6 year old sis in law has an origonal nintendo, it works perfectly. just the other day got to play Dragen Warrior. Didnt want to stop. My wife finaly lured me away but only with the promise of a half dozen cold beers.
anyone else remember that game?
gazman70k Aug 19, 2002, 05:57 What about Double Dragon or Contra ... they were classics.
matthugh Aug 19, 2002, 08:34 Double Dragon ruled my life....still would if I hadn't swapped my 'tendo' for a knackered CB90 and bunch of 1970's porn.
My NES is nackered as well. I have to make do with the SNES and Nintendo 64. But I spent most of my time on the NES playing Mario Bros. Tetris, and Zelda 2. Took my time away.
Played mario 2 a lot. Luigi was the shit.
My personal favorite for it though had to be Wizardry 2. Now that was a long game.
catch_52 Aug 20, 2002, 04:24 beat contra once
could play tetris for hours on end
netniV Aug 20, 2002, 09:49 I got bored of Tetris, was too easy. Played Mario Bros 1 2 and 3 ... played many games ... wasted many hours ... but how could no one mention DUCK HUNT yet?!
Ronin Da Bomb Aug 20, 2002, 22:20 Does My Avatar Answer Ur Question?
(Just A Pity They Didnt Have one From Mario 1)
zaster911 Aug 20, 2002, 22:23 I know I have the NES, SNES, and one other emulater sitting on my puter somehwere, I'll have to break out a few of the old roms and boot them up. Anyone remember "star tropics" ? that was a fun game, I think I'll go play now.
catch_52 Aug 21, 2002, 04:37 duck hunt, that fucking dog that laughed when you miss on all three shots. it pissed me off that you couldnt shoot the dog
netniV Aug 21, 2002, 10:51 Yeah, now that would be have been such a great feature!

Sure will, as soon as I get home from work. my PCAnywhere seems to not be working through my router again. The sum of all the files may be rather large, though, but I'll let you know.
netniV Aug 21, 2002, 18:03 Please do, because if they are, we'll have to sort something else out :-D
Ronin Da Bomb Aug 21, 2002, 22:41 Hell, I Used 2 Know A Great ROM Site, Ill Try And Remember

Ok I have somewhat organized my lot of EMU's and ROM's
It Totals almost 170MB Zipped up.
3 Gameboy Emu's
10 GB games - mostly the PokeMon series
4 NES Emu's - only one plays sound well on my system
100 + games
3 SNES Emu's
50 + Games
I guess I'll try and clean them up a little more and let you guys know the size for each system zipped up. Maybe If I get real ambitious I'll even have some sort of list of games.
I'll most likely set up an FTP site with some limitations on connections, and post the U/P here, and change it every day. The last thing I want is everyone and their brother gettin this shit, then Nintendo Sueing my soory ass (already have 2 too many lawsuits on my habds as is). In fact any problems with just allowing Donators access (once I set it up), ya know, as one more little incentive?
Anyway, I won't get to it tonight though, WASTE has their CD release party tonight and the METRO in chicago, and I gotta go support some ROck & Roll Music.
Let me know what you guys want/think. I'll be more than happy to comply within my limits (when I figure them out i'll let you know?). I can't rightly hold back such nostalgic data from my friends here.
Untill then...
zaster911 Aug 22, 2002, 16:07 By the way, just so everyone knows, these emulaters are for M$ Windows Machines. Sorry for you MAC and *nix users, but I do know if you find an EMU for your system, then the roms will work regardless of OS.
Em7add11 Aug 22, 2002, 16:39 I just bought a SNES a couple of months ago. Does anybody have any opinions on the Zelda games for that console? I've already worked my way through all the Mario games for it :)
zaster911 Aug 22, 2002, 16:53 I only remember one game for SNES and that was Zelda 3 "A Link to the Past"
But it was a real fun game, they were able to add a 3D element by adding "height" to the terrain. It was also one of the first, if not the first, games to use environmental effects (rain) that interacted with the ground.
All in All a great addition to the Zelda Series
