I'd like some advice, if anyone has got a minute. Basically, I would like to able to record the NME Chart straight off MTV2 every now again, directly onto my hard drive, then edit out the stuff I don't want and save the tracks I do want as individual video files - possibly DivX or maybe MPEGs.

So, my questions are this.


1) What video capture card do I need? There seem to be hundreds available, and I'd like to spend as little as possible. (Natch.)

2) Will I need any extra cables to go from Scart to the PC?

3) What kind of quality can I expect?

4) Any software recomendations? I know how to edit, (I used AVID suites at university) but something straightforward would be nice, that will run reasonably on a 1.2ghz pc.
