I know many will say it was never alive.

I ring Game on behalf of a friend, to ask about a new game for it, and they have dropped it completely - you simply can't get ngage stuff from the UKs leading games retailer.

Surely this is the end, even it is a phone to - at least as far as the UK goes.

As far as I know a few of the phone chains never carried it at all.

Edge seem to have taken an interest in the machine of late, and its featured at the forthcoming Game Stars Live event - but surely its all far too late.

Not even a re-vamped machine has helped.

A quick look at amazon shows the games are about £30. I would barely spend £2 on a game for a phone, let alone £30!

I heard that a second was in the works, as opposed to just the revamp. Can anybody confirm this?

Well it was too bulky to use for a phone and had next to no support from games companies. You can get a GBA sp for less which has more games so there was never really any contest. The newer N-Gages although smaller still don't look like they are very practical to use as a phone.

Well, I don't think they will bother, if the first unit's sales are anything to go by.

£30?????

If that's the case, then the reason for its death is being overpriced. XBox and PS2 games are £30 for a reason, but the NGage is just a glorified NES...

That's not too far from GBA games and teh quality is close. Having said that, it's close not identical and a has already been said there are a limited number. I wouldn't say it's dead yet, a price reduction on the games would help revive it. As it stands at the moment though, it's on it's way out unless something is done quickly. The new version makes it a reasonable phone but it's still not the best machine for playing games on, the controls could be better designed.

I actually seen someone with an N-Gage on the train today, AND he got a phone call. Looked like a right freakazoid.

I have to admit it I have one :meh:

Tony Hawks rocks tho! \m/

(and it does feel like you`re holding a sandwich to your head when you use it as a phone - I am a gadget whore)

I know two people who have one. One of them paid full whack when it came out and regretted it. The other used it for games and porn, but was gutted when his broke.

Someone I work with has one, I had a quick go of Tony Hawks in it, played just like the PS1 version. Still don't want one.
