I'm not impressed with this week's Rogue Traders show. It appears they are struggling for material.

Whilst I commend them for showing us the real dodgy dealers such as that Shamus fellow, this week they targeted a chair salesman who was quite clearly under pressure to sell a product using the company's own claims. Although he could do with having a think about the sort of job he was doing, he was still just doing a job.

Don't forget he was asked to call round and do the demonstration - he didn't 'cold call'.

I don't agree with the company's claims but I feel it was grossly unfair to highlight this particular person rather than the company as a whole because this could potentially ruin his future and I really don't think he deserved that.

If this guy ends up with smashed windows and a vandalised car through being highlighted in such a way on television I believe he'd have every right to take BBC Rogue Traders up on it

Just posted that on 'Points Of View'. Prob isn't going to make a difference and I've never done anything like that before (except a drunken rant to the prime minister's office address) but I had to get it off my chest.

What yow think of this week's episode?

Ah.. the Michael Moore school of muckraking... defending the little guy by going after the little guy..

How do you think this man's future is going to be affected? If he's lucky he'll be forgotten quickly, but what if he's not? If he looked at the evidence he might decide for himself that he was wrong but who will give him the benefit of a doubt now? He didn't set out to deliberately con people in my view, he was just doing a job and possibly didn't have much choice in the type of job he could do.

Where I work was done on rogue traders a few years ago, and to be honest they are not very fair in the way they do it.

With us they gave us information which led to a reasonable diagnosis, which led to the sale of a part. BUT, if they had given us the correct information at the beginning then we wouldn't have sold them the part.

Although, with all this being said the effect on the company was actually minimal and we had more people who weren't customers ring to say they never would be customers than actual customers cancel. Oh, and we had loads of calls of support from customers who thought we were badly done by.

I therefore don't watch this crap on the TV. I didn't even watch the one that we were on because I didn't want to give them the ratings
