I don't see why those of us who enjoy TC Raymond's (aka World Of Weird) acidic, Viz-esque humour should be denied having him posting here. Its only because of TC's high post frequency and the ferocity of his comments that he registers highly on members annoyance radars more than others who could easily add him to their ignore lists if they're that upset over TC's presence.

In TC's defence he's a good guy which is often overlooked, and over the past year I've really got see what a talented and highly amusing chap he is. He's certainly not your average run-of-the-mill, monosyllabic poster. There is a lot of thought in what he writes down and you know even before reading his posts he has something to say whether you agree with it or not. He'd be a great tabloid newspaper columnist (and I mean that as a compliment!). Yes, he can dwell on the bad aspects of life and repeat some of his old jokes and annecdotes. Big deal. Haven't we all been guilty of that from time to time?

As I understand Dogbomb and Minxy don't have any objections to him returning, so if members showed how welcomed he would feel here he might decide to come back. Its up to you.

Like any self-respecting comedian he likes an audience to play to, and since my own site's collapse the alternative sites which have sprung up have failed to take off and maintain any interest (as you may have noticed). It would have been like Bill Hicks playing to an empty theatre.

I'd agree with that. He didn't piss anyone off when he was posting stuff on Hucknall, that's what he was good at.

He's a good poster and at times can be witty and and an interesting read, but the fact is he churns out a lot of the irritating stuff relentlessly (Goodies, Sussanah Hoffs) and is highyly intolerant to anyone who disagrees with his own views.

If he came back it would be no different to when he was here before. He's still probably the same and this site still has the same rules. Actually asking him to come back would be like a power wank on his humongous ego, so it would probably just end in tears. We have to think of the children people.

So to sum up, whatever.

Yeah exactly I used to loathe TC back in those days when he ripped to pieces my favourite celebrities although to be fair I used to loathe most members back then so that doesn't count for much :). But if I genuinely felt TC Raymond was a bad guy I wouldn't be wasting my time creating threads like this.

I didn't see/understand why he left in the first place, but wasn't it his decision rather than ours or even the mods?

However I think it'd be great to see him back, as he was one of those memorable 'characters' who made dogbomb (the board) what it was/is, even if his views weren't always popular. You could say the same about yourself (Manta) actually and probably a few others - not always the most popular views on the entire board but the place would be so damn boring without.

I made my position and the sites position perfectly clear about returning crispees. Some will be allowed back. Others may not, based on their previous history. Anyone who wants to come back needs to contact us.

At no point have I expressed a personal opinion about the return of WOW or otherwise. And whats more, its not up for public debate. His return is negotiable privately, any mexican waves on his behalf WILL be ignored.

What I do need to reiterate, is that behaviour like that seen previously is not on the agenda. Anyone who comes back will be given the chance to prove themselves as worthy, but that doesnt mean you can take that return for granted. Things will NOT return to how they were before.

Closing this thread now. I closed the poll regardless of the vote outcome because the vote outcome will make NO difference to whether he comes back or not. Nor will arguing about it or trying to create some sort of dramatic interest in his return. Any further discussions, my PM box is as always completely open.

From what I understand, he said it as recent as a couple of months ago. In fact, it was more of a personal attack of ME (rather than the site) because I'd used a picture someone emailed me of a comic-teabagger.

As Minx said, some negotiations are underway with some ex-posters.

This type of thread only skew my decisions in ONE direction... and I fear its not the direction which the original posters would like.
