View Full Version : Pete
seabreeze Jun 5, 2006, 07:02 I have to admit to going off him a bit now. His antics in the diary room although funny at first are now becoming tedious. I have also noticed that whoever he is talking to he always agrees with them, it`s like he doesn`t have his own point of view most of the time or is afraid of upsetting anyone and not being the all round nice guy.
Saying that there is no one else in the house at the moment that I would like to win.
I tihnk that Nikki can be annoying, but she also has the ability to make me laugh quite a bit. Personally, I haven't found pete to be annoying yet, and think both of them could win for different reasons at this point. I'd rather Pete win only because Nikki might come out of the house screaming "I'll go be by myself then shall..." :D

He can be very irritating. He puts up with stuff that anyone with a backbone wouldn't have let happen.
Maninblack Jun 6, 2006, 17:11 I think Pete's main problem is he has been picked on and ridiculed for most of his life and finds it difficult or strange to live with people who accept him for who he is.
Have you noticed when he comforts someone he puts his head on their chest which is quiet defensive.
He has his faults ,agreed , but his faults are more than cancelled out by the other housmates faults,at the moment.
But I have a gut feeling that ,like some of you have said ,that he may become a bit tedious as time goes on ,and he may well get left out to pasture.
I don't think I'd bet my whole english pound at ladbrookes on him just yet.
Apparently tonight hes upped and moved his stuff out of the bed he was sharing with Lisa and moved over to a single bed.
This in itself is indicative of the sort of person he is, not keen on conflict, he said that "he sleeps better on his own" to her as the reason for moving.
Im with maninblack and cappy on this one. Glyn appears to be building in confidence and might well end up eclipsing Pete if he stays in till the end, if people do tire of Pete, but I guess Pete has just evolved into a clown because people are going to laugh at him regardless so he might as well play to the strengths of being the class joke rather than let it finish him off.
I think hes a sweetie, really. And possesses a quiet inner strength that gets masked by the joker.
AnthillMob Jun 7, 2006, 18:05 i dreat daffyd hasslehof won it and keep meaning to put money on him. hes very sweet in a 'im a bit dumb' kind of way.

My thoughts on this point, were that he was perhaps doing this in case he got a sudden tic and shouted in their ear.
I phoned my Mum today ,on totally urelated business to Big Brother , however in our small talk towards the end of the conversation we unexpectedly started talking about Pete.
She bought up the suggestion that on several occasions he has used his 'Wanker' tic ,to gain advantage on the younger viewers ,by using it in a non 'tic' sort of way.
I totally dissagreed ,as I always seem to , but afterwards wondered if she had a point.
You can't hide behind calling everything wank ,and then pick like a game of 'ker-plunk' which needles you want to remain, after you've pulled them out.
I think was what she was saying.
He was ace in his interview tonight, when he said his boss liked the fact that he said "wankers" a lot because it was often true. There were some great quotes generally tonight actually.
I cant see he would use the word outside of the tic if he had a choice, he must get very bored of saying the same word over and over.
Excactly ,that was the point I tried to express to my Mum.
But she wouldn't let me get a word in ,edgeways.
Curiously, I havent had that problem with my mother for 4 1/2 years. Since we fell out. Saves the arguments and time wasting.
Besides which, contact with her has a similar effect on me as Tourettes has on Pete.

I think its just coincidence, and partly down to the way that tourettes can work for some people.
My only dissapointment is that this seems to be the only expletive tick....I think he should expand a bit......
He said wanker the other day and then said his tourettes was in context...made me laugh :D
