I'm kind of thinking this might be shameless money grubbing on the part of Kevin Smith... but I liked the first one, so I'll probably see this one. Mall Rats was pretty horrible... Dogma was pretty great... naja.

Clerks was indeedy a good film. Dogma was the biggest load of pretentious badly-acted shite I have ever seen. And I have seen Eyes Wide Shut.

I've never seen clerks, is it worth it then?

If you like low budget quirky funny well-scripted and acted films, yes.

No car chases

I like Dogma. But then again, I didn't think Eyes Wide Shut was that bad. :x

What's the body count like?

One, if you count the alternate ending... which I do... which makes me wonder how I'll take the sequel..

Zero. There is some selling of food and drink products though

..and talk of how the people constructing the Death Star were most likely independant contractors and were therefore innocent victims of the rebel alliance's aggression.

(gwyatt apparently doesn't own or hasn't rented the dvd, eh?... alternate ending is a downer).

how can you say mallrats was rubbish, i enjoyed that far more than clerks, which was good but in my mind not as great. I enjoyed most of his films even jay and silent bob strike back, with perhaps the exception of chasing amy. little disappointed by that one

liked clerks, liked mallrats, lukewarm on chasing amy, meh on dogma, would rather sit through a wagnerian opera marathon than watch jay and silent bob strike back again.

clerks 2...is it hopelessly childish of me that I retain some hope?

Come one Ride, it was worth it just for:

All you motherfuckers are gonna pay. You are the ones who are the ball-lickers. We're gonna fuck your mothers while you watch and cry like little bitches. Once we get to Hollywood and find those Miramax fucks who are making that movie, we're gonna make 'em eat our shit, then shit out our shit, then eat their shit which is made up of our shit that we made 'em eat. Then you're all you motherfucks are next. Love, Jay and Silent Bob.

i love them all, some morethan others but i appreciate the continual weaving in and out of the story lines. chasing amy isnt a proper comedy because that wasnt the aim of it imho. its story based and tells a unique tale with many elements.

clerks was good but its obvious that he wrote it quicker than the rest and with less experience. mallrats and dogma are the best ones i think. JnSBSB was good but incredibly childish. had some awesome scenes in it though.

clerks 2 for the win!

i'm looking forward Clerks 2 myself. It got an 8 minute long standing ovation at its showing at Cannes and has had very favourable previews. Also the death count in Clerks is 1, thats the fella who dies having a wank in the toilets.

In my list of 10 worst movies I've ever seen.

Dogma was great. Any movie that openly slags the church in a funny, Jesus-owes-a-black-guy-money kind of way is tops in my book.
