View Full Version : The most enjoyable new films you have seen in the last few years
gwyatt Jul 24, 2006, 15:07 For no particular reason I have enjoyed:
Ghost Dog
Lost in Translation
Before Sunset
American Splendor
Dig!
Road to Perdition
Motorcycle Diaries
Broken Flowers
Ghost Dog was great. I think Film Four are showing it again soon. Dig! is funny as hell and interesting too. The Road to Perdition is probably the most accomplished film I've seen in recent years.
stevie_b Jul 24, 2006, 15:16 Road To Perdition is an excellent film. Too many people dismiss it as boring.
City Of God
Sin City
Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
Daveyboy Jul 24, 2006, 15:22 Again for no particular reason...
Batman Begins
Adaptation
Requiem for a Dream
Sin City
The Life Aquatic
Dead Man's Shoes
Oh, and I totally agree about Road to Perdition. Fine film.
gwyatt Jul 24, 2006, 15:24 I forgot Adaptation. Liked that one a lot too.
enourmous david Jul 24, 2006, 18:51 Theyre all shite, and just like you I cant be bothered to say why.
lists rock
Mnemosyne Jul 24, 2006, 19:21 Lost in Translation, non physical intamacy across the generation gap
Fly away home - I know it's old but always seems to be on sky
Spirited Away - wonderful, especially the train ride, can't wait to see Howl's Moving Castle (no one would see it at the cinema with me)

Christ, you're a dick.
dexcel13 Jul 24, 2006, 20:15 Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind
definatley agree with you there, rented it on a whim and was very impressed by it, just a little depressing
TEAM EDNA Jul 24, 2006, 20:30 The Punisher
Low budget comic fest, done the right way.
netniV Jul 24, 2006, 20:34 Memoirs of a Gesha. Might laugh at that but I found it to be quite a gripping film. I only post it now because I'm not sure anyone else will :)
Amanda Huggenkiss Jul 31, 2006, 11:28 can't wait to see Howl's Moving Castle
Not half as good imho.
Xavier Jul 31, 2006, 13:19 Films I enjoyed from the last 5 years more than most others
Hotel Rwanda
Million Dollar Baby
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Butterfly effect
kurwa mac Aug 23, 2006, 14:02 Thanks to my cineworld pass I've seen a real mix of shit and gold over the last year or so. The missus demands we go and see just about everything, not taking into account how truly SHITE some films look...
Most enjoyable -
Batman Begins
Sin City
Flightplan
Wedding Crashers
Silent Hill
Downfall
LEAST enjoyable / Mrs Kurwa's choice
Heidi
Half Light
Shrek 2
The Dark
Failure to Launch
Monster-in-law
