Now, this guy is hilarious. Might have well locked himself into a chest freezer for 4 weeks with a friend and a chess set made from urine and achieved the same resulting frostbite, minus all the 'Scott of the Antarctic' fantasy crap from the papers. I remember reading an interview given by him after his failed "Lard Eating Expedition to the South Pole" where he boldly claimed that they needed 6000 calories a day to tow their Lard, but were only getting 4000 (or some such figures). That's not heroics, just very bad planning. You can still see him occasionally in ‘Iceland’, trudging through the aisles, wistfully toying with frozen blocks of Anchor butter...

He was a right bastard in Shindlers list.
