I watched 'Wolfcreek' a couple of weeks. That was one brutal movie and the villain, played by veteran Aussie actor John Jarratt was extremely realistic and it was genuinely disturbing which is saying something as I'm rarely bothered by horror/thriller flicks.

The torture and violence scenes are very realistic and hard to watch and the 'head on a stick' scene is really quite harrowing. I won't spoil it if you ain't seen it but this is one I recommend. Really memorable despite them selling it as being based on real events when it's only loosely based on the Ivan Milat case and a couple of missing backpacker stories.

Good movie. Very well shot, it has you on edge throughout.

Apparently the guy who plays the psycho used to be an Alan Titchmarsh style presenter in Australia before he made the movie.
Then again, Eric Bana was a stand up comedian before he made Chopper.....

Quentin Tarantino actually rated him as Australia's best male actor. I'm not sure about that but he certainly was convincing in 'Wolf Creek.'

Aye, tis good. A very uncomfortable film to watch but original and superbly filmed.

He used to be in a lot of things. In SA we used to get a glorified aussie soap opera called McLeod's Daughters (about girls running an outback ranch). The pyscho from wolf creek was the dimwitted farmhand. So when I started watching the movie I just couldn't take him seriously. But as the torture and mutilation started in earnest I quickly revised my opinions of him.

Great movie.

Definitely won't be visiting the Australian outback in a hurry though.
