Salad (Little bit of rice, pineapple, beetroot, peppers, lettuice, bean salad)

1 4 Finger Kit Kat (255 cal, which surprised me as I thought it would be less. Must learn to check before I eat stuff)

Leftover Vegetarian Goulash (300 cal) with a bit of pasta (no idea how many calories)

1 Slice of bread with soya butter

And I'll probably have a banana later as I haven't had any fruit today.

Not a bad day, definately not over my limit anyway. Feel a bit bad for having the Kit Kat, but I know that I shouldn't so I'm gonna forget about it. It's getting a lot easier just having salad during the day as well. Suppose being busy all day helps.

If you have 2 2 finger Kit Kats then that's only like 220cals. It's def less than a 4 finger, which is odd! Kit Kats are goooooood though. I have a box in the kitchen with WHITE and MINT ones... yummmmmm

weird...I don't understand how it could be more!

Today I had

1 Tuna salad baguette
1 bottle of Ribena Light (15 calories)

and tonight I'm having Vegetable and Chick Pea Balti (245 calories) and probably a banana for after.

I thought I'd have a break from salad today 'cause I don't want to get sick of it, and a baguette was the healthiest thing I could find. Pretty sure it's packed with calories though.

.

It`s prob the extra choc in the middle that holds them all together

Minx
Nov 9, 2006, 18:46
I thought that, but then I thought that cant be right because 2 two finger kitkats would have more chocolate covering the separated sections.

dominoid
Nov 9, 2006, 18:48
You can't get 2 finger kitkats on their own, only as part of multipacks right? Could it be like crisps where a bag from a multipack is smaller than a bag you would buy on its own in the shops?

seabreeze
Nov 9, 2006, 18:49
you used to be able to get them on their own

has anyone got a 2 finger and a 4 finger kit kat to hand to compare the weights? This will bug me now...

Nov 9, 2006, 19:29
they dont say on them but i read on teh internet that a 2 is 21g and a 4 is 48g.

Today I've had:

A mug of Tomato Soup (119 calories)
1 Salad (46 calories)
A handful of Raisins (147 calories)

Not sure about tonight, gonna look at some recipe books and do a low fat something with the veg left in the fridge.

Either I'm buying really fatty raisins or they're actually full of calories, I looked at the pack and was all :wtf: but I decided they would be my wee treat for today 'cause I really wanted some.

Will update later

I ended up frying courgettes, carrots, onion, garlic, celery and pepper and shoving chopped tomatoes with it, and had some rice with it. Don't know exact calories but I don't think it would be more than 400.

I had a banana after that too

Hamry
Nov 12, 2006, 20:33
Went out for a meal today, so I've probably had loads of calories, but I'm not bothered because it tasted good and I've lost half a stone so far, so it's not gonna hurt as long as I keep up my diet next week.

I had:
Shredded duck bean salad (was yummo!)
Chicken Curry with a poppadom
Shared a 'chocolate nemesis' with my Grandad (it wasn't as big or gooey as I expected so I don't feel guilty)

and that's all I've had today.

Today:

Breakfast:
Country Cob. Dry, chewy tasteless thing. Yuck. (70 calories)

Lunch:
Salad with 3 bits of beetroot (66 calories)

Will be having one fig roll later (40 calories...or so maw tells me)
Will also have a banana

Dinner:
Mixed Bean and Vegetable Stew with a slice of wholemeal bread (215 Calories)

hmm that's way not enough calories..so maybe I'll treat myself with something later. There's a nice big block of cheddar in the fridge...

dominoid

I ended up frying courgettes,

Be careful with that, Corguettes soak up oil like a sponge. It's a good idea to either brush oil onto the pan or use that spray oil stuff so there isn't much for them to soak up.

Will keep that in mind. I've been using a lot of sunflower oil which (although it's not especially healthy) is quite low in calorie intake compared to other stuff we have.

Snack: 2 Fig rolls (130 calories)

Lunch: Salad with some beetroot (66 calories)

Dinner: Prawn and cucumber pittas (235 calories) with either stir fried vegetables (55 calories) or Courgettes a la Provencale (80 calories)

Might treat myself to some chocolate later because I've had a really bad day and I want some dammit

Well I messed up today:

1 Cheeseburger
2 Pasta King

It's because I was in college from 8.30am-8.00pm and there's fuck all decent to eat but I'm really angry at myself for having the burger.

dominoid

Aye ta, but it wasn't a treat, I really didn't like eating it, so it just feels like a big waste. Plus cause I lost so much last week I don't wanna lose even less this week and now I have a spot coming up on my face (i never get spots) and I'm blaming that fecking burger.

I think you did just fine mate.

hahaha, it did not taste of royalty. It smelt and tasted like vomit.

Pumpkin Soup (150 calories at the most)
Burger and Chips (God knows how much that would be)

Chinese buffet

Missus, thats not awesome, thats dangerously low calorie. Remember you are still a growing person, and you need to have at lthe very least a MINIMUM of 1000 calories. This is not a race and you could do yourself serious long term harm by not eating enough on a regular basis.

Eat sensibly, please. For me?

dominoid
Nov 21, 2006, 18:16
:stupid:
Remember, various differnt things in your body will require energy so you don't want to go so low you starve your body of what it needs for basic respiration and so on, fair play to you for having the willpower but too low is actually far worse than too much (eat too little for too long and the body just starts storing everything away as fat)

Hamry

aye, I didn't want to snack because I ate a load of crap the day before. But I will make sure I have the minimum.

I'm actually finding it hard to get up to 1000 calories every day, I'm having to eat lots of wee treats because the meals I cook, although big, aren't very high in calories.

Nov 21, 2006, 18:20
My daughter was just eating about 500 calories a day and not getting anywhere with her diet then she upped calorie intake to over a 1000 and the weight just dropped off her.
Wish I had some of your willpower though, well done for that part

LordSnot
Nov 21, 2006, 21:56
Yeah if you have too few calories, your body reacts like it's starving (which it pretty much is) and holds on to every bit of fat it can. Even if you're not hungry Harm, try and have something or else you aren't going to lose any.

Hamry

I'll post it up tomorrow if I'm not busy! It does have kidney beans in it, and it's real easy to make

Saturday:

1 tuna mayo pitta (300 calories)

Sunday:
Chilli with rice and tortilla chips
Chocolate Fudge Cake

Today:
1 Mars bar

Saturday and Sunday I did have at least 1000 calories, they were big meals in restaurants. Gah I hate having little family meet ups in restaurants every week!

Today I haven't eaten properly, but I left home for college at 7.15am and came back just now, so i haven't had the chance to eat anything decent.

Tomorrow I'm back on track!

Boots Meal Deal, which included: Sandwich (338 calories), Crisps (61 calories) and a smoothie (123 calories)

I bought myself a wee chocolatey treat from Thorntons and had a bottle of Lucozade

For dinner I had a big Chinese take-away. Calorific and delicious!

I started my cleaning job, so I'm guessing that was some good exercise for the day. Also during the course of the day I must have walked 2 or 3 miles as the hospital is a long way from town.

Today:

Breakfast was a smoothie

Lunch - Prawn and Avacado sandwich (about 400 calories)

Not sure what's for dinner, might be going out as we're going to the cinema tonight..which means popcorn and a small coke for me as well!

So yesterday we went to a Harvester restaurant and I had a platter for one. It was delicious, I don't care how many calories were in it. I also had a few cheesy Dorito's during the film.

Today:

Breakfast was a smoothie

I then went to Wagamama's for lunch/dinner and had Chilli Beef Ramen (it was super delicious but extremely hot. They put way too many chillis in it compared to last time :( ) and then, because my mouth was burning, coconut ice cream with a mango sauce afterwards.

I'm guessing that's around 1000 calories but to make sure I have at least that many I'll have some toast or summit in a minute

Mmm, when I was in New York, my first meal was a roast beef sandwich. It came on a large dinner plate, and consisted of a pile of sliced beef so high that it took 20 mins of solid eating just to see the bread of this 'sandwich'. Also, a pile of mashed potato, the whole lot smothered in gravy, and then a separate plate of salad. O. M. G.

I overdosed on corndogs the whole time I was there.

I had potato chips that were in the region of 20cm long - how the fuck do they grow potatoes that big???

I also had to try the local speciality of pancakes, syrup and bacon for brekkie. It was lovely, but I felt seriously ill.

In Boston we ate oriental food mainly, as we were there for an Asia-Pacific conference.

^American food is seriously the best. If I lived there I wouldn't bother dieting. No point!

That`s exactly what my daughter said when she stuffed her face in New York. Didn`t stop her going back for more though

hahaha, I'm thinking of returning as soon as I can. So much more I need to eat. I didn't have pancakes, waffle OR steak! AH!

I'm impressed- were they in a row or spread out throughout the day?

When I was at school I used to crave Creme Egg sandwiches- I never had one, but sometimes I still wonder what it would be like.

My diet has consisted mostly of soup, noodles and stir fry because of my new food budget.

Couple of doughnuts here and there as they're nice and cheap and calorific. Pretty sure I'm under my minimum of 1000 calories a day but there's really not much I can do about it yet. Will hopefully get better at making dishes and managing food and that as I get used to it.

On Wednesday I'm off to my brothers in Manchester until Saturday, which I'm sure will be filled with good eating (KFC :D) He's going to feed me well. Bless him <3

I've decided to start a new diary thread because a) my last one went way off track and b) I'm Paul Mckenna's bitch now and I'm going to do everything he says.

Wednesday, 21st March

Dear Mr Mckenna,

I've read over half of your book now (I'm on chapter 4) and I've listened to your CD once. I'm very sorry that I haven't listened to it more but I've been too poorly to relax and do it properly. I very much enjoyed listening to the sound of your voice. It's nice and deep. I think it's amazing that you can say 2 different things at once...how do you do it?

I've found that since I've started sitting down for meals properly and chewing the crap out of every mouthful I consume, I've been enjoying my food so much more. I eat less and feel satisfied. No man has satisfied me like you Mr Mckenna, I thank you for that. It's a little odd not eating at set meal times and only when I'm hungry, but I'm getting used to it.

Today I've munched on...

A bowl of broccoli and cauliflower at around 1pm. No idea why but I saw it in the fridge when I was hunting for lunch and thought 'I want that'. It was good and I ate enough until I was hungry no more.

Can't have been too filling though because at 4pm I was feeling peckish and returned to the kitchen. I stole one of mums Ainsley Harriott cuppa soup things. It was a veggie chowder or something, only 85 calories I noticed. It was really nice. The only cuppa soup I've ever thought was tasty. Wasn't too big and I was still feeling a bit hungry so I had a banana and 2 clementines after it.

When I'm next hungry I'm going to cook my dinner. I fancy making my yummy pasta sauce, which is made of tomato, garlic, onion and peppers. I'll have it with spaghetti and will probably shove a nice helping of grated cheese on top.

I'm sure that'll do me for the evening, but I have a feeling I may get a little peckish. If so there's a couple of chocolate digestives waiting, or cereal, or more fruit. I'll see what I fancy.

Love from your biggest fan
Harmy

Dear Paul,

I think if you and me are gonna work Paul, we need to be on first name terms

I've been too poorly and busy playing Neopets to read anymore of your book or listen to your CD but tomorrow I'm hoping to try out one or two of your exercises. I think I'm gonna do one of the ones that makes me feel ace about myself.

I'm getting better at recognising when I'm hungry and not. I haven't been hungry for snacks all day. Huzzah!

Today I've devoured

2 peanut cookies and 2 chocolate digestives for breakfast. I had a cup of tea with 2 sugars to go with that too. I fancied something sweet.

When I next got hungry I made myself the mother of tuna sandwiches. It was huge. I ate most of it but got full pretty quickly.

Just put my dinner in the oven. Jambalaya. I couldn't be bothered to cook and it looks teh yum. I'm gonna have a couple of pieces of garlic bread with that too 'cause it needs to be finished. While that's cooking I'm having a few strawberries 'cause they too need to be finished and I'm hoping maw won't mind.

Love Harmy

(ps. I had chocolate biscuits and a dairymilk yogurt last night because I was up mega late not able to sleep. Soothe my cough Paul? Kthnx)

I'm a dirty liar. I didn't do any of your exercises. You're probably disgusted with me. Blame my friends, they keep inviting me out

I ate...

A chicken baguette with chips and a can of coke at around 11ish. Was starvin! Filled me up all day too.

Well, until dinner that is. I didn't have any food in so got a chinese. I had a veggie spring roll and satay chicken with rice. I didn't finish it all. Yay for stopping when I'm full

Didn't eat anything else but had 2 bottles of wine and loads of cider.

Dear MC Kenna

Mckenna-ing wise I've been a very good girl. I finished reading your book. I admit I haven't done an exercise yet but I did use your mind-programming CD just now! Due to me being a bit hungover and tired I think my mind might have wandered off and perhaps I slept a bit (I never can tell, it makes me feel strange) but what you say still sinks in dunnit?

Food wise I've probably not picked the best choices today but I guess I'm supposed to eat what I want.

I've had...

A bowl of coco pops when I woke up with a cup of tea (2 sugars)

At lunch time I fancied a sausage roll, crisps AND chocolate. Now I knew I probably wouldn't be hungry for the all at the same time but decided to get everything at once to save me running back and forth to the shops. I got my sausage roll and a Crunchie. I saw that Kettle Chips were going 2 for £2. Can't say no to that can I? I ate one whole bag whilst watching Thelma and Louise. Although I'm sure I chewed them up nicely, I probably got distracted by the film and ate more than I actually needed. Oopsie.

However since then I haven't eaten. Got some Souper Soup ready to get blended up and serve. I'd like to grate some cheddar to go on top but feel like it's probably best to give that a miss today. Still tastes super yum without cheese anyway.

I will eat soup until I'm full

Love Harmy x

Sunday 25th March

Dear McKenningtons

You so did used to be a DJ (http://www.radiorewind.co.uk/paul_mckenna.htm)! Awesome!

I'm doing quite well today I think. I mckenna'd myself with your CD about an hour ago. I've spoken with Minx about this...I'd rather you didn't count down at the end quite so loudly. When you say '3,2,1' it makes me jump. I also managed to eat my roast dinner at dads without thinking 'fatty fat fat fat' until I was done. Great stuff eh? Roasts always make me feel fat. Not anymore :D

I also went for a walk with my dad. ME going on a WALK? Asking to go? I'm a changed woman. I think maw got a free step counter thing in her Frosties ages ago. If I can find it I'm going to count how many steps I do in a day and then do an extra 200, just like you say.

So today I've gobbled down...

Nice crusty bread with butter and roquefort for lunch. I love how much cheese dad has at his. Yummy! I ate mega slow so didn't feel bad at all

Dinner was my roast. It was roast lamb with roast potatoes, carrots, yorkshire puds, broccoli and cauliflower cheese and gravy. I also had a bit of mint jelly to go with that. Was delicious. Everyone finished about 10 minutes before me because I was eating slowly and putting my knife and fork down between each mouthful.

There was cheese for afters. As I'd already had some I only had a bit of brie on some crackers

I've drunk a lucozade and sugar free 7up too.

Not exactly the 'healthiest' of days but I'm pleased that I've eaten without feeling huge and not snacked all day.

Tomorrow will be healthier as I have souper soup to eat up

Lots of love, hugs and kisses
Harmy x

(ps, as you're a DJ can you come play at my party for my 18th? Kthnx)

Wednesday 16th May

Dear Mr 'I know best'

I've been shit with this losing weight thing for a while. I'm sorry. I'd like to say me being short of money and being stressed and upset enough to binge on crap all day is a good enough excuse, but it isn't really. I've been a lazy schmuck (though I have been going for walks and such) and tomorrow I'm getting back in the game.

Today I saw some photos of me in The Marat/Sade play on Facebook that had been tagged. It was just after I'd lost a stone and a half. I've totally put that all back on. Even though I wanna be slimmer than in those photos, I wanna get to that size again. My face has gotten fatter and everything. I'm annoyed at myself that I messed up something I worked so hard for. However, I won't dwell on this, tomorrow things are gonna change.

No point going on about what I've eaten today, hasn't been too bad but I'm worried one last binge will happen tonight. Yes it won't do me any good. I'm sitting here trying not to but I've been mega pissed off and just feel like shoving peanut kitkat chunkys down my throat.

Catch ya on your mindblowing CD later babez

Dear Mcsexy

I've been doing pretty darn well with all this shizzle

Yesterday I had...

Porridge for brekky - WITHOUT any sugar, syrup etc in it. (it was foul but I ate till I was done)

Lunch was a small bowl of good for you spaghetti from Asda

Dinner was Chargrilled Chicken and Chilli Cheese salad. It was yummylicious. It had tortillas on top and a yummy dressing. Was probably quite fatty but I'm sure there was some goodness in there

2 Scoops of chocolate ice cream.

Today I've had..

Chicken and mustard pasta salad for lunch

Not had owt else yet because I've been running around looking for an internet connection all day. Tonight I'm either making my bean bake or having a wee ready meal from Asda. I think I'd need to defrost those though so probably my bean bake.

Dear McThinner

My bean bake was actually the nicest bake ever. I'm well gonna put the recipe up in the low fat thread, was dead easy to make...and dead sexy. I'm still going strong on all this, should start seeing results awfie soon.

Today I've been eating...

Chicken salad wrap without mayo - 268 cals. Wowz. That's well low for a bready thing. I had a bottle of coke with that too. Can't do diet coke yet, it tastes rank.

I had 2 or 3 bits from the pick n mix that got bought for our drama class

Tonight I've got leftover bean bake (woo yay etc) and some spring rolls that I wanna munch on. Seeing as the bean bake is very low fat I'm gonna have to get myself some kind of pudding because otherwise my intake will be mega low. Maybe I'll make a banana split. Yeaahh 8)

Dear Mc'Ican'tthinkofanamebecauseI'msohotandtired,

Hot and tired is a good feeling for me. I drink lots more water and don't feel like eating lots. I also crave salads. Though i crave the dressing that comes with it too.

Today I've really not been very hungry. I bought a bit of pick n mix because they had the melon slice things. Oh god they're so good. Plus all my classes gave us little muffins or candy because it was the last lesson. I've been picking and not really had the chance to have a proper lunch. Tonight I'm gonna have one of the ready meals I bought, not sure which one. Something Americany though I reckon. Might cook some soup so that I can warm some up tomorrow for lunch.

If the film I watch doesn't run on too late I'll have a whiz at your CD
