Now I know most people are trying to lose the poundage but my problems slightly different.
I have a really fast metabolism & matter how much I pack away (& it's a fair bit) I can't seem to put weight on. My mates seem to think it's a wonderful problem to have but it's so not.
I've always been skinny (size 6-eight) & buy most of my tops in the kiddies section.
I'd dearly love to put on a bit & I'd kill to have curves (size 10-12 would be ideal)
I've tried everything I can think of apart from eating nothing but bars of lard from now on. Any suggestions of how to put some weight on (in a healthy way) would be greatly appreciated!

Auntie Beeb says (http://www.bbc.co.uk/health/healthy_living/your_weight/reaching_gain.shtml)

Could you also give an example of what you eat on a day to day basis?

Today:

Brekkie: Porridge with blueberries.
Mid-morning: Banana, pack of cashew nuts
Lunch: Baked potato & chilli with a side order of onion rings.
Dessert: Large mocha & slice of Bakewell tart.
Mid-afternoon: Bacon & sausage bap.
Home from work: Bowl of bran flakes with full fat milk
Dinner tonight will be: Irish stew & potatoes
Dessert: Bowl of vanilla ice-cream & sweet chilli sauce

I'll also fit in 3-4 bottles of lager, had 1 packet of crisps sofar & will probably have another.

Well that sounds both calorific and yummy. Have you ever been to a dietician/doctor about this?

Not yet but my mother in law who used to be a nurse suggested maybe I should have my thyroid gland checked.
I'm otherwise healthy with bags of energy, apart from not sleeping much.
I'm always doing a million things at once, even moreso with christmas just around the corner, but will defo make time in the new year to see the quack if I don't manage to put on the obligatory few pounds over the festive season.

P.S -Didn't have the ice cream in the endas I had the same last night. Instead I opted for a tin of ambrosia creamed rice, topped off with a big dollop of apricot jam, then warmed up in the microwave instead.

I'd def say go to the doc's, but you could try milkshakes or creamy smoothies throughout the day to bulk up the calories.
