View Full Version : Extra Festive Weight
Well, I've just weighed myself and seen that I haven't actually gained much the last couple of weeks, despite eating constantly and very badly. I definitely underestimated the combined effect of cold weather and christmas treats and my willpower has gone completely out the window.
So, now time for me to start thinking about getting my diet back to normal.
Are you lot all waiting for new years to start dieting again properly? It doesn't make much sense to me, since I've never liked the idea of new years' resolutions and never actually made one before.
So my diet starts on wednesday, the day I'm back at work.
This will, I think, be quite easy, as I am already so sick of chocolates, snacky biscuits, and large fattening meals consisting mainly of meat. I reckon our leftovers and stashes of choccies will last through tomorrow and then I've warned my sister that everything unhealthy will be thrown out.
the main problem will be the continuing cold weather and if I can resist actually eating all the pies.
So how good/bad have you all been over the Festering Season? Has anyone actually managed to keep to their diets? Refused that thorntons choc or a second helping of roast potatoes?
Well done you!
This Christmas I think I've been pretty good. I mean, I stopped dieting properly a week or so ago just because I've been a bit stressed and didn't think it would help me, but I've still managed to shed some pounds. Probably helped that I had food poisoning too, hehe! Today I've eaten what I want, but I guess, not too much. I made sure I didn't deprive myself of what I fancied because it's Christmas day...gotta live a little eh?
My diet will start once I'm done with all the family visits. So Thursday I hope! I don't want to pig out till New Years, just because I don't feel like it, it'll only make me feel flabby. I will be drinking on New Years eve though, decided I can't take another New Years in at home alone (last year I didn't feel too peachy) so I'll do what the hell I want and then just get back to normal.
As we didn't spend Christmas at home this year, there won't be any leftovers to tempt me in the house. Great news for me, but usually after Christmas I get a bit sick of eating anyway.
Oh and Gir, as you're starting your diet again...would you be interesting in my sexy reward plan? Yes I AM going to whore it out whenever I can ;)

Would I be interesting? Probably not. Interested maybe. ;)
What does this plan entail? Is it in another thread that I haven't seen? Does it involve sex, as a reward?
LordSnot Dec 26, 2006, 01:40 I don't know what it is, but something tell me it'll be anal sex... ;)
I've gained four pounds, but my mum cooked far too many vegetables, so I'm going to be able to eat all those.
UnoChild Dec 26, 2006, 14:18 It is my intention to gain at least a stone in weight. I am currently feasting on scotch eggs, pickled onions and pork pies to try and achieve this.
My plan to rid the house of 'bad' food is working. I've demolished the last of the leftovers and have earmarked my thorntons choccies for pud tonight. I have also gone off to the shops and bought bags of fruit and veggies and salad stuff to fill up the fridge, in anticipation of tomorrow.

If you wanna you should post on here and I'll help you out. I could reward you for weight gain too

Seriously, actually. I have a very fast metabolism, and smoke - yet I want to put ON weight. What are good foods to do this?
Right tomorrow when I get home, I'll research into it
For now I suggest Scotch eggs
But will help ya, promise :D
UnoChild Dec 26, 2006, 17:08 Wicked. :D
Uno, for ages I was trying to help my mum put on weight, and the doctor suggested stuff like LOTS of mashed potato with full cream milk and butter in it. Actually, anything with lots of butter. And carbs.
Another thing that is useful is to know your blood type. I put a lot of stock in the blood type diet, it tells you which foods are 'bad' for your particular blood type.
I will look it up and post a link for you later...
Kinky McFoxxy Dec 28, 2006, 16:06 I weighed myself on Christmas morning and I'm the lightest I've been since I was 15. Consequently, my mum and sister think I have an eating disorder, despite being a good size 14, occasionally a 16 (I'm about 5'11"). Hmph.
I had two big blowouts on Christmas Day and Boxing Day and I spent all of yesterday afternoon making soup from the New Covent Garden recipe book t'other half got me. Beautiful Broccoli is my favourite so far.
Would like to lose about a stone to a stone and a half in the New Year, looking to be a large 12/ small 14- need to get in shape for the wedding, whenever that may be!
Am quite pleased with myself, all things considered, when you think that 2 1/2 years ago I was just about a size 22.
Wow! Well done Kinky!
I like to hear stuff like that, it give me hope...

It's not really about clothes sizes though is it? Sometimes I'm a bigger size because of my body shape, not because I weigh a lot. I don't know how much you weigh, but make sure you don't go anywhere below what's right for your height okay?
but anyway, well done :D

My mate was about a size 16 when she got married, and she looked absolutely stunning. Her dress looked amazing, BECAUSE she was curvy. She looked 10x better than any skinny bride I've seen.
Kinky McFoxxy Dec 28, 2006, 22:18 According to the BMI generator thingy, I'm only about 4lbs overweight, which is good news! Would like to lose a stone then it gives me a bit of room for expansion, if you know what I mean. Going to try to tone up the bingo wings. Most definitely want to be a curvaceous bride, don't know what I'd do if I lost my curves! I'm just glad to have collarbones :D
You only need to lose 4 pounds then, not a whole stone. Seriously, don't get silly over this
January 2nd is "Minx bucks her ideas up" day.
Im looking forward to getting back on the diet treadmill. Need to clear up all these thorntons continentals first though. Waste not want not and all that. Actually, I might keep a few back for end of day treats. Might not though :D
enourmous david Dec 29, 2006, 18:25 I will post a sensible response once I have the courage to go near the scales again, sometime next week maybe :\
Don't worry about weighing yourself man! It's been Christmas, there's no way you'd have had a blast if you'd not touched any of the delicious food. If you've put anything on it'll come off, no worries and I bet it's not even as much as you're thinking.
You can't miss out on the tastiest part of the year
And Minx, you can uhh...send me thorntons goodies. Yes :D
I will post a sensible response...
Tha'll be a first! ;)
seabreeze Dec 29, 2006, 21:25 So far I`ve put on 2lbs - quite good you may say but next week tis my birthday and I seem to have to go out for loads of meals and that is normally the down fall for me.
My diet starts again on the 10th Jan when all birthday celebrations are over. I really intend to cut down on the drinking and do loads more exercise ( got a sky glider for xmas) and try to stick to a calorie controlled diet rather than just cut back.
LordSnot Dec 29, 2006, 21:54 I've put on at least 300lbs over Christmas.
LordSnot Dec 29, 2006, 22:02 Just check my hot new userpic for info!
I feel so confident in my curvy figure that I was able to strip down to my bra!

I looked like that 3 years ago :fact:
LordSnot Dec 29, 2006, 22:50 Pfft, if you were a size 22 you were svelte compared to her. Er, I mean me.
I do hope you don't lose all your curves. Do you need to extra 4lbs off?
Kinky McFoxxy Dec 29, 2006, 23:08 I need to lose a bit off my tummy, thighs and arms, then I need to tone up a bit. Think I'll start pilates again- that helps with core strength which will help my back, too.
On another note, I <3 Hobbs because I tried a size 14 dress on in there and it was TOO BIG! I know it's just a cunning ploy to make you buy their expensive wares due to them making you feel thinner, but it sure felt good.
