I'm not counting calories as I am 'food optimising' as Slimming World call it.
LordSnot Jan 13, 2007, 14:30 I'm not counting calories as I am 'food optimising' as Slimming World call it.
What's the idea behind that?
Good day today Spice, well done :youwin:
Food Optimising - a little like food combining but easier.
Basically there are two plans which you can choose from - one is where you eat mainly pasta, rice, potatoes and other veggies and one is where you eat meat and cut out potatoes, pasta, rice etc, but most other veggies are fine.
You also have measured amounts of dairy and measured amounts of fibre stuff like cereals, bread etc. You also have a limited amount of 'treats' such as alcohol, chocolate, etc.
It's extremely easy to follow and there is no calorie counting. Everytime I have followed the plan I have lost all the weight I wanted to. There are loads of books with great recipes in to keep it interesting.
My problem is, I get complacent, stop following the plan and eat like a pig, thereby putting it all back on. However, as the plan is so easy, even when you have lost your weight, there is no reason to stop following it.
I just wish I didn't like chocolate so much because I can pretty much not worry about having alcohol and any other junk foods
LordSnot Jan 13, 2007, 14:42 The second one sounds too much like the Atkins for me, but the first sounds excellent. I did alright on WW but the points system isn't too appealing. They have a new one where there's a list of "safe" foods and you can eat as much of them as you want, and you have some points to spend on foods off the list.
Anyway, good luck Spice. :)

It's nothing like The Atkins diet. I tend to eat mainly chicken breast and fish on these days.
I do find the other day more filling though - I love potatoes I do

LordSnot Jan 28, 2007, 20:23 Good lord Spice, where do you get the self-control to not snack? Or are you not a snacky person anyway?
You've been doing brilliantly, even having your 5-a-day. :youwin:

the cheese sauce is just the bisto one you make up with water (as you would with their gravy granules). It's really tasty and worth a few 'syns'
Well - Healthy eating has taken a back seat recently due to pressures of work and general lack of enthusiasm.
However, will get back to it - I am off on holiday in 5 weeks and would like to loose a few pounds before I go
